“Don’t spray it in my damn coffee this time.” She frowns, deciding to cover her cup with a notebook before standing. “You ruined a perfectly good latte last time.”

I nod, biting back a smile. “I did, and I’m sorry. I won’t let it happen again, boss.”

“Why are you back to calling me boss? You know I hate it.” She glares and there goes my cock again.

Fucking hell.

I can’t exactly tell her I do it because it gets her worked up and causes her scent to fill the room.

What can I say? I’m a glutton for punishment.

“Sorry, boss.” This time I don’t bother hiding my grin. “My bad, Luna.”

She just rolls her eyes, and I spray her with more spray than necessary.

As much as I hate the way her scent disappears, I don’t want any strangers scenting her.

She’s mine—even if she doesn’t know it yet.

CHAPTER NINE

Knight

Ican feel Ven and Mack tensing behind me with each passing second, but I just keep my eyes locked on the sheriff.

We knew we’d be stopped coming into Widows Peak—everyone is. This isn’t somewhere you can wander into by accident.

The sheriff—Syrus, I think he said his name was—doesn’t turn his back to us, but he makes sure his lips aren’t facing us as he speaks into the phone.

Smart man.

I’m a damn excellent lip reader. Most people don’t think about hiding their lips when they’re far enough away that they can’t be overheard.

He didn’t look too happy when we rode up on our bikes, and I’m sure only part of that is due to our size.

The three of us are big dudes, definitely what everyone would assume are alphas. In Ven’s and Mack’s cases, they’d be right.

We expected me to be an alpha, too, so when I designated as an omega, we’d all been shocked.

We were less shocked by the fact that they’re my scent matches. Even if they hadn’t been, we still would’ve been a pack. We grew up together in the Sinner’s Pride MC.

My dad is the president, while both of Ven’s and Mack’s dads are enforcers. As soon as I was of age and the spot was available, my dad offered me the VP spot. He doesn’t care that I’m an omega, and he expects me to be president one day.

I’m not against the idea, but I’m not sure if I want to make the MC my entire life like our dads did. The reason we were raised in the MC is that all three of our moms are out of the picture. We stopped asking about them when we were young. I’m not sure our dads even remember much about them.

That should be a little sad, but it’s the only life I’ve ever known. I know it’s been harder on my sister than me. She could’ve done with having a mom around.

Maybe then we wouldn’t be in this situation, driving halfway across the country to meet with a lawyer who specializes in sticky omega legal cases.

Dad hadn’t wanted me to involve a civilian, but what he’s doing isn’t working. We need help.

This is a last-ditch effort. If Luna Salazar doesn’t take our case, I don’t know what we’ll do.

What I’ll do.

She’s already been in his grasp for far too long.

“What’s taking so long?” Vengeance hisses from beneath his helmet. I don’t even have to look at him to know his nearly black eyes are glaring at the sheriff.
