Storming out the front door, pushing the door open wide enough that it slams against the building, my stride is determined and confident. If he steps outside, his ass is mine and I will fucking pound him into the ground. As my feet hit the first step, I hear his loud taunts coming from directly behind me.

“What’s the matter,Mr. I’m-So-Fuckin’-Perfect-I-Shit-Gold-Bricks Powers? Don’t want all these fancy people to know that YOU KILLED MY SISTER?”

The next thing I know, five very large security men are pulling me off of Harrison’s bloodied face. He’s lying on his back on the ground, yelling obscenities and swearing his retribution on his life. The valet has pulled my car around and is standing inside the car door, staring at the commotion with his jaw on the ground. A couple of other security men are helping Harrison up off the ground.

“This type of behavior is not acceptable here,” the manager hisses. “This is the Four Seasons and we have animmaculatereputation. I willnothave it tarnished by allowing this sort of behavior.”

“Do you want to press charges against this man?” the manager asks Harrison, gesturing toward me.

“No, I don’t wanna press no charges,” he drawls. “I don’t want him in no jail where I can’t get to him.”

I roll my eyes in disgust and say, “Bring it on, Harry Dick-man. I’ll fuck up your face again for you.”

“Sir!” the manager yells this time. “Do you wish to press charges against this man?” he asks, gesturing toward Harrison this time.

“No. No charges,” I smirk at Harrison. I’m ready for round two.

“You both need to vacate the premises immediately. If either of you return, I will press charges for trespassing,” the manager informs us.

At some point during this whole exchange, Sophia moved to my side. As Harrison starts to leave, he stops and rakes his eyes over Sophia while licking his lips. Pushing her behind me to protect her, I reach to grab him again just as the security team pulls me back and another set of men grabs Harrison’s arms and forcibly walks him away from us.

Flexing and relaxing my fingers, I inhale deeply and blow my out breath, trying to let go of the intense anger that is still welled up inside of me. If they hadn’t stopped me, I might have beaten that bastard to death. Sophia’s hand softly lands on my arm and slides down to take my hand in hers. She’s silently giving me her support, so I meet her expressive eyes with my own. Moving in closer, she wraps her other arm around mine, pulling her body as close to me as she can.

Pulling my arm free from her grip, I wrap my arms around her and kiss her gently. “Let’s go home before they call the police on me,” I whisper to her. She nods and we walk to my car just as we are now—our bodies are as close as we can get, our arms are wrapped around each other, and we lean in to keep our faces close.

The thought on repeat in my mind is,When do I tell her?
