“You’re not.Not yet anyway.”

She looks at me, but I can’t read her expression.

Pearl’s expression is shuttered as she shifts in her seat again.

“Are your panties wet right now, Pearl?”I ask, needing to know.

Her scarlet blush tells me they are.

“Was it from me kissing you, playing with those sweet titties, or grinding you into the wall?”

“All of it,” she whispers.

I groan, reaching down to adjust my raging cock.“Fuck, Pearl.Do you have any idea what you do to me?How hard it’s been not to fuck you on every available surface?”

“Wells!”Pearl admonishes me.“I… I don’t want to bethatwoman. The one who gets special treatment because she’s sleeping with the boss.”

I frown.“You are going to get special treatment.”

She closes her eyes with a sigh.“Then we can’t do this.”

I grind my teeth together.“Oh, we’re doing this. There’s no going back.I’m not pretending that you’re not mine anymore.I can’t watch you flirt with other guys.Lord knows what I would do if you ever tried to date someone else.Fuck, I want to commit murder every time I see you smile at another man.”

I glance at Pearl to see her staring at me in shock.

“What are you talking about? No one flirts with me!”

“Oh, Pearl.”I shake my head.“The delivery drivers, Mr.Hall, Mr.Smith, Mr.Monte?—”

Pearl scoffs.“You’re crazy! They’re being friendly, not flirting.”

“They’re notthatfriendly,” I grumble.“They want you.They want what’s mine.Do you want any of them?”

“What?No!”

“Do you want me?”I ask as I pull into the parking lot.

Pearl shifts in the passenger seat, her teeth sinking into her lower lip.I watch, waiting impatiently for her to answer.

Finally, her eyes lock with mine, and she nods.“Yeah.”

“Thank fuck,” I grit out.

I reach for her, but Pearl pulls back, looking around nervously.I hate it, but I know I need to follow Pearl’s lead here until she’s more comfortable with me and our relationship.I don’t like it, but I’d do anything for my girl.Anything except let her go.

“Okay, we’ll play it cool. We’ll say you had car trouble, and I picked you up.We’ll keep this between us.For now.”

Pearl nods gratefully.

“But people will know soon,” I add.

“I don’t even know what this is,” she mumbles, grabbing her purse and reaching for the door.

I stall her, my finger under her chin so I can turn her head to look at me.“We’re engaged.”

Her mouth drops open.

I bite back a smile as I climb out of the car.
