Time to go.

The other thing journalism taught was never to overstay your welcome.

I was walking back towards the car, circuitously weaving through the shipping containers, when someone saw me. “Hey.” He had on a white hard hat and a highlighter yellow vest. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, thank goodness.” I pressed my hand to my chest. “I’m just trying to get back to my car, and it is such a maze. Can you help me, please?”

The man’s face immediately softened. “By the office?”

“Yeah.”

“Go down this row for four containers, then take a right. You should see it.”

I smiled. “Thank you so much.”

“No problem.” He did a little hat-tipping motion.

No one else stopped me, and the guard at the gate waved as I passed through. I blew out a breath and turned for home. This story was mine.

CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

_____________

TRINITY

Theo waited for me outside the elevator.

I didn’t even have time to say hello before he had me up against the wall.

“Theo?” I gasped as he kissed my neck.

“I’m supposed to bring you straight into the living room so we can all hear what the hell you were thinking, but I’ve decided to fuck my toy first.”

He shoved my purse off my shoulder and pushed my jeans down around my ankles. There wasn’t much room, but he didn’t care, lifting me just enough to slide into me. With my jeans around my legs, I couldn’t move. He thrust into me slowly, the tension easing from his shoulders.

“I was thinking?—”

Theo took my face in his hands. “Trinity, gorgeous, we’re allbarelyholding our instincts in check. You’ll get a chance to talk. But right now, shut up, or I’ll find something better to do with your mouth, and I’llstillfuck you after.”

Heat streaked through me. This was the agreement. Free use. Every piece of me loved it, but I also liked pushing back.

I lifted my chin. “Blue.”

He paused, searching my face, checking for what I was feeling. Then he smirked. “Nice try.”

Hard and fast, his piercing hitting me so deep I saw stars. “We should keep you here and knotted at all times,” he muttered. “Then you won’t go off to dangerous places on your own.”

“I didn’t?—”

One hand came around my throat and pinned me to the wall. “I told you to stop. You’ll already be lucky not to be rutted into the floor when you go in there. Don’t make it worse.”

Perfume filled the tiny vestibule, my mind blissfully blank. And Theo took what he wanted. Pleasure coiled inside me, ready to spring. It tasted like honey and sunshine and every second drowned me further.

Theo moaned in my ear. “I will never have enough of you. Never. The way you melt and submit makes me so goddamn hard.”

He came, pulling back far enough that his knot wasn’t inside me, and I… wasn’t close.

I blinked at him. “But…”
