“Actually, that’s on purpose. I had it custom made. See? You’re even wearing the same white T-shirt and blue plaid pajama bottoms. Take off the paper on the front.”

He studied it again and saw where Natalie had taped a small piece of wrapping paper to the front of the ornament. Peeling it away revealed Sasquatch holding a heart and it read,Marry Me.

“You know,” she said, “I was thinking. Maybe after we get back from Arizona, we can do a small trip to Tahoe, just you and me. It could be a fun getaway since I’ll still be on vacation and your classes haven’t started yet.”

He lifted his gaze to her, not quite hearing everything she had said. “What?”

“It’s just an idea. I feel like we’ve both been so busy, and it’s been a long time for me so it might be kind of nice.”

“Natalie, I… Did you just ask me to marry you?”

“Oh, yeah, I did. Once I make up my mind about something, that’s pretty much it. I know we said we’d take things slow, but if we take a while to plan the wedding, like maybe we hire a vendor every other month, that probably counts as slow, right?”

He scooted closer, pulling her legs until they draped over his lap so he could get as close as possible, breathing her light scent of sweet mint and jasmine. “Yeah, I’d say that would count as slow.” He brushed his lips over hers, nibbling, tasting, completely reveling in the feel of her. She made a little groan in her throat as he deepened the kiss, her fingers already traveling under his T-shirt.

“Or we could elope in Tahoe?” she said. “Save ourselves a lot of effort.”

“Mm-hmm,” he replied, his hands already sliding along her torso. “Or maybe there’s something in between. Something small but both our families can be there.”

“Okay. I guess you’re worth a little bit more effort. If that’s what you want.” She sweetly kissed the corner of his mouth. “Marry me?”

“Yeah,” he said, pressing another kiss to her. “But you’re still not getting that dick pic.”

She laughed, pulling him closer. “Well, then I guess I’ll just have to be satisfied with the real thing.”
