against his gently, letting him know I’m here. He leans in slightly, accepting comfort, and exhales

deeply.

“Anytime, Jonas,” Cara says, eyes gleaming. “Jonas, can you tell me why Declan has your face

tattooed on his ass?”

I lose it, folding forward, laughing hysterically. Jonas snickers as Declan gasps and orders us not

to tell her. It was a bet. Another stupid bet out of hundreds we’ve made in the decades since we all

became a family.

We tease Declan all the way to the parking area, waving as Cara and Declan pull out in her sporty

car. Jonas turns to me, a smile on his face and shadows in his eyes. “Where’s Maya?”

And just like that, I’m grumpy again. “She’s working late. Said she has plans and will find her

own way home.”

He nods, unconcerned, and climbs into the driver’s seat. I drop into the seat beside him.

Everything feels off. This is Maya’s spot. I should be in the back, staring at the back of her glossy

black hair, imagining how it would feel running through my fingers or, even better, over my cock.

Pisses me off to no end that all my dreams have been about her lately. But I’m going to handle that shit

this weekend. I’ll get a woman or two under me, and that will be that.

“Janey has a boyfriend,” Jonas blurts into the silence between us.

Groaning, I lean my head against the headrest. “I’m so fucking sorry.”

“Yes. Well. It’s to be expected,” he says stiffly.

Studying his profile as he expertly guides us through rush hour traffic, I wish I could fix it for him.

Show Janey how amazing he is, and make her fall in love with him. Jonas wants her, and I want

whatever he wants, even if it means I lose him.

“Wait for your moment,” I say. “It must be fairly new. So watch and wait. There will come a time

when you can make your move.”

“I don’t have moves.”

Laughing, I punch him lightly in the shoulder. “Yeah, you do. Just pull some of your Jonas mojo on

her, and she’ll jump into your arms.”

“I’m strong. I could catch her.”

Smiling at his literal interpretation, I give him the words he needs to hear. “You are, brother. You

really are.”
