brothers and together they seem to come to some sort of decision. “I’ll grab the van, be right back,”

Jonas yells as he runs across the parking lot.

“Wait, what’s happening?” I ask, looking at the men picking their way over the ice toward us.

“We’re going to see the dogs,” Ransom announces cheerily. He’s still clothed, but he’s carrying

his jacket and his sleeves are rolled up.

How are they all so attractive? Did he have a list of criteria when he was building this family?

Like, must have granite jaws and brown eyes? Must fit right in on a runway? A loud burp and giggle

from Colton make me laugh. Yeah, they’re attractive, but they’re still just men.

“I love dogs,” Micah says with a sigh. A bunch of them echo the sentiment while weaving back

and forth.

“They’re coming with us?” I ask out of the side of my mouth. Abby’s snorting with laughter as she

nods her head. “Crap. Let’s go.” I hurry to the door Luis is holding open. I can feel Zach’s eyes on me

as I dive in. Abby, still giggling, jumps in after me.

“Hit it Luis,” she says through her giggles. He laughs and jumps into the driver’s seat.

He peels away, getting us to the rescue in record time. I’m honestly impressed with him, and stop

to tell him so. “Thank you for getting us here so quickly.”

He winks, and I see hints of the suave man he used to be…ok, still is. “Anything for the boss’s

lady.”

I give him a smile and retreat to the front of the building as I absorb the impact of his words. The

boss’s lady.Is that what I am?

Am I somebody’s?

I know I’m supposed to argue that I’m not. That I’m an independent woman and I’m my own

person. But I don’t give a flying fuck about any of that.

I want to belong.

I want to be someone’s lady. And I really want someone to call mine too.

“Oh my god,” Abby whispers.

I follow her gaze to the curb behind the SUV. Oh, my god is right. “Itislike a clown car,” I mutter,

watching in awe as Jonas hits the button to open the sliding door. There are seven very large men in

the back of the minivan, and we watch, they carefully climb out, the van bouncing as each one exits.

The van gets a foot taller once everyone’s on the curb.
