CHAPTER TWO
TIFFANY
––––––––
Ilift my face to thecamera and glide on Luxe Stallone lipstick, then rub my lips together before pouting.
“Nude blush.”I lift the tube, showing my Instagram audience.“Our latest shade releasing this season, but this is just a sneak peek.As you guys know, we’re launching the Maison Diamond Luxe Lips & Lash line in Beverly Hills.Comment below withneed nowand my team will send twenty randomly selected lucky winners one of these gorgeous, silky lipsticks tomorrow.Oh my god, you guys, they are so soft and moisturizing and just look at this shade.I am in love.”
I turn my head to show different angles.
I’m not lying, I’ve spent almost a year on this new range. My lips get so dry, and I insisted my team create something that is both gorgeous and good for lips.
“I’m so excited to launch in a few weeks.Remember it's live, oryou can enter to win a VIP ticket on my website. You’ll walk the red carpet, sit among celebrities and familiar Insta stars and take home the most amazing goodie bag.”
I quickly glance at the comments, even though I know Sadie is monitoring them from her desk behind me, situated across the room.
Standing back a little, I adjust my olive-green halter top and flick my long dark hair over my shoulder.“Don’t you love these earthy fall shades?I am obsessed.”
I started Luxe Stallone about four years ago after deciding modeling and dancing wasn’t for me.My father opened a lot of doors for me, but the reality is, I was terrible and hated it.What I loved was fashion, and more specifically, makeup.I’d tear apart my makeup artist's kit seeking new colors and trends, even as a teen.
I started doing makeup tutorials when they became a thing and mixing colors. Then my PR company, Blush Empire, recommended I launch my own line.
I agreed so fast I got dizzy.
It has been a lot of fun and hard work.Sure, I had a head start in life because of my father, but that doesn’t mean everything will be a long-term success. Many products are launched off the back of a celebrity’s career—or their parents’—and they die a quick death.
Luxe Stallone has thrived.
From teens to women in their mid-thirties, and even makeup artists are using Luxe products, saying they love the quality and cutting-edge colors we launch each season.
The work that goes on behind the scenes, which I’m very hands-on with, is enormous.
I know some celebrities who attend a few meetings, nod at the colors and leave.
Not me.
I’m involved in many aspects, from design to creative, to making sure that we use the best ingredients and that fair wages are paid to everyone involved from paddock to plate.
Or rather, lips and eyes.
It means they’re high-priced cosmetics, but I didn’t create the company to put food on the table.I’m a trust fund baby, so from day one I stressed to my entire team that we had to be ethical.
Ethics aside, I wantedLuxeto still have an edge.Gone are the days that sustainable cosmetics have to be chalky or poor quality.Working with Blush Empire, we coined the tagline,Timeless Beauty.Modern Temptation.
It worked.
We appealed to the audience we were seeking. We even won some awards, beating out timeless big brand classics that women have used for decades.
Of course, the media was harsh, claiming much of my success was due to Steven Stallone, my celebrity father.
“Ugh, I hate this review,” Sadie said, shaking her head as we sat in front of her laptop the day after the awards.
“It is what it is.”I shrugged it off, pretending it didn’t matter.
