When I drag my eyes off his huge biceps, I focus.
“The launch of my Maison Diamond Luxe Lips & Lash line.It’s a pivotal time in the business.”
“Maison, as in the diamond jewelers?”
“Yes.I have partnered with them, and they have created a range of Luxe Stallone chains which go on sale the same day.It’s been a huge collaboration.”
When I turn, Jayden blinks.
“It’s a twenty-million-dollar deal.”I say because he needs to understand what’s at stake.
His eyes flick to mine, hold them, then he straightens.
“Where is it taking place?”
“In Beverly Hills?Out the outdoor pavilion.”
“Christ.”He rubs the back of his neck and takes a few steps away, shaking his head.“That’s a security nightmare.”
I turn in my chair and stare at him.“Which is why I hired the best firm in California.”
Our eyes lock once more.
I can see him holding back his words, so wait for him to break.I can see the judgement.I can see him dying to tell me I’m being irresponsible for putting profit first.
That’s not it.
You can’t let people scare you into living life.This is more than just paying my father back, although that is a huge motivation.I’m proud of the company I’ve built.
