Finn smirks. “Don’t worry. We’ll put on a movie and keep our girl company.”

Drew kisses the top of her head and gives me a nod.

“Go easy on her, Finn. Maybe actually watch a movie.” I grab my laptop off the coffee table and head toward the office.

I shouldn’t leave them alone with her. Fuck, I can’t be trusted to be with her without sinking my cock inside her. Shaking my head, I open the door to the office. We have floor-to-ceiling windows in here with a decent view of the park.

Wyatt glances up while typing. “You left her alone with Finn?”

“Finn and Drew.” I set my laptop on my desk and sit in my chair. “She’s a grown woman who should be able to hold her limits.”

Wyatt makes a noise that might as well be a Yeah, sure, I believe you.

“If she ends up with a UTI, you’re taking care of her.” He lowers his gaze back to the screen.

“I’ll order some cranberry juice.” After I work. Fuck, this week, she stayed on my mind even when she wasn’t in my office. I’m behind on a few projects. She could help with them, but having her in here would only end with her on my desk, getting fucked over and over again.

“Beth gets back tomorrow.” Wyatt stops. “Do you think she’ll know anything?”

“With the way Tom is? Who knows.” I rub the back of my neck. “She might have a direction for us to look into at least.”

“The FBI are searching for him.” Wyatt glances at the door. “Maybe we should call his mom.”

I draw in a breath. “We don’t know anything. Telling his mom won’t help. Most likely she’ll just have Sara come overseas with them.”

Wyatt runs his hand through his hair. “Would that be a bad thing?”

“We can protect her.” Just thinking of her out of my sight has my leg bouncing nervously.

“I don’t want her to go, but what if we can’t protect her?”

I hate when Wyatt has a point that I don’t want to get behind. She’s here. In our care. That’s the safest place for my peace of mind.

“I’m not sending her away.”

“That’s not what I’m saying.” Wyatt releases a breath. “If something happens to her because we didn’t make her go into hiding, I’ll never forgive myself.”

“You won’t be alone, but we’ve pushed her away for too long. I’m not letting her go without a fight.”

His dark eyes widen, but then he nods and returns to his work.

Sara isn’t Wyatt’s anymore. She’s all of ours. She’s mine and I’m not letting go.

Chapter 10

Routine Transactions

Drew

Sara draws away from me as Dante walks into the office. A little jingling noise makes her look behind her. I follow her gaze to a small, white fluffball.

"You get a good nap, Peabody?" she asks.

"He sucks at being a guard dog." Finn shakes his head and crosses his arms over his chest as he leans against the kitchen counter. His gaze takes me in and he gives me a cocky smile. "Peabody hates Wyatt."

That’s a challenge if I ever heard one. Wyatt was the one to hold Sara’s heart first, but not her dog’s. I need to win the dog over.

Sara scoops the little dog up and sighs.
