“They’re too calm,” I say.

Briggs glances at me.

“What do you mean?”

“They’re not scrambling,” I reply. “Not tightening security. Not shifting positions.”

“They don’t know we’re here,” he says.

I shake my head slightly.

“No… they do.”

That lands.

Because now it changes everything.

Because now this isn’t just an approach.

It’s a setup.

“They want us to come in,” Briggs says.

“Yeah.”

Because this?

This is a trap.

Behind me, the CIA agent shifts.

“You’re thinking ambush?”

“I’m thinking layered defense,” I reply. “Kill zone at the front. Secondary teams inside. Fallback tunnels.”

His eyes narrow.

“That matches what we’ve seen.”

Of course it does.

Because they built this to survive something like us.

Because they expected someone to come.

Because they’re ready.

Good.

So are we.

I look back at my team.
