“Nod?” she chuckled. “As in one nod or several nods until everyone is standing around looking like a bunch of bobbleheads?”
“Pretty sure it’s just one very demure, nod.”
After our speedy chat, I spent the rest of the evening packing what I deemed appropriate palace attire while Diamond ran wild around my suite, energized off whiffs of catnip.
The next morning couldn’t have arrived soon enough, especially since sleeping hadn’t come easy.
It was the first night I’d slept alone, with the exception of a cuddly kitten curled up beside me.
I missed being held by a hunky prince.
Grayson and I agreed we’d take a night off from one another to pack, rest, and mentally prepare for the six-hour road trip ahead. Besides that, I knew it was getting difficult for him to sleep beside me without us taking it to the next level—awaking to a majestic hard-on against my panty-covered ass every morning was living proof. But, I wasn’t ready, and he was my hero for respecting that.
“Good morning, Ms. Royale. I’m here to take your luggage down to the car.” Mikel, the never-cracks-a-smile bell captain arrived right on time. “I’ve been told to ask you to wait here for Camille to escort you”—he side-eyed Diamond, snuggled in my arms—“and the ball of fur downstairs.”
Diamond hissed, cranky because she didn’t like being referred to as aball of furor perhaps because she was suffering from a catnip hangover.
Camille arrived ten minutes later, in full-on bodyguard attire—dark glasses, pants, suit jacket, and dark shoes, looking a tad Sarah Connor-ish, only with dark hair and olive-toned skin. “Are you excited?”
I quirked a brow, knowing she already knew the answer. “Absolutely.”
Once outside, I found Grayson stationed by an open car door, Oliver and Finn by his side. He was dressed to the nines in a dashing ensemble of slacks, loafers, and a dress shirt, which complemented my navy-blue ultra-conservative dress and heels. His eyes lit up when he caught sight of me, the most comforting, adoring smile dancing on his face. “I’ve missed you,” he whispered in my ear before kissing me on the cheek. “As always, you look and smell amazing. So do you, Diamond.” He stroked the top of my already-spoiled kitty’s head, poking out of her carrier. “Can’t wait for youbothto meet my mom and dad.”
Minutes later, we zipped off.
Destination: Andorra Royal Palace.
My heart leaped. My stomach quivered in anticipation.
For so many reasons, I had a strong feeling that after my visit to the royal palace, my life would never be the same.
