He rubbed his jaw, regret flooding his face once again. “No, it was Jag. He came to get me for Church and when he realized what I’d done, he punched me.”

I felt like I’d been punched myself. Again.

“Jagger knows? God, that explains why he seemed so uncomfortable when he picked up Ethan earlier. And Molly…that’s why she stayed in the car isn’t it? Jagger must have told her.”

“No, she was there. She came out of his room when she heard him yelling at me.”

“Oh my God…who else heard you? Who else knows thatmy husbandspent the night with another woman?”

Caleb flinched for what seemed like the hundredth time since we’d begun this conversation, but I had zero sympathy for him. He brought this on himself. He did this, not me.

“King heard us fighting, and he came upstairs with Lucky and Trick to see what was going on.” He hesitated for a second. “Ace and Pic came out of their rooms, too.”

“So, every damned member of the 5thCircle Guardians knows by now that you fucking cheated on me. The bunnies, too, right?” I laughed bitterly, knowing how gossip spreads like wildfire around the clubhouse. “Of course, the bunnies know. I’ll bet those bitches are laughing their asses off, too.”

“Baby girl, it’s not like that. Everyone’s pissed at me for what I did. Jag won’t talk to me, and my dad could barely look at me. This is all on me. They all know that, believe me.”

“Believe you? How can I believe anything you say? You drank, after you promised me you wouldn’t. You got drunk, after promising me you wouldn’t.” I was screaming at him now, the words falling from my lips without thought as I released all of the pain that I’d been holding in. “You were so fucking drunk that you apparently mistook a stripper for me, based solely on the fact that we both have brown hair. You – “

“Please calm down, it’s – “

“Don’t fucking tell me to calm down,” I snarled, struggling to push myself up from the couch. I couldn’t sit there a moment longer. Caleb jumped to his feet to help me, but I swatted his hands away.

“You kissed her, you let her touch you and suck you off, then you got naked with her and climbed into our bed so you couldfuckher.” I was sobbing now, my arms wrapped around my middle as I paced back and forth.

Caleb reached for me again, but I dodged his hands. I couldn’t stand the thought of his hands – hands that had touched another woman – touching me.

“Abby, I know you’re upset, and God knows you have every right to be, but you need to calm down, it’s not good for you. Think of the baby.”

“Think of the baby? You clearly weren’t thinking of our baby when you were trying to fuck that skinny bitch! How the hell could you be so drunk that you didn’t notice that the naked woman trying to ride your cock didn’t have an enormous baby belly?”

He lunged for me as I screamed at him, trying to wrap his arms around me as I fought him. I caught him off-guard and shoved him so hard he stumbled backward, barely catching himself.

“Don’t touch me! Don’t you dare fucking touch me after touching her last night,” I cried, spinning around so that my back was to him. “God, I can’t even stand to look at you. Just get out.” I choked out the words, unable to believe that we had come to this.

“No, Abby, I’m not leaving you like this.”

“Get out,” I screamed again. “Get out, get out, get out!” I spotted the remote control on the coffee table and picked it up, throwing it before I even realized what I was doing.“Get out!”My throw went wide, and it slammed against the wall next to him, shattering into pieces.

Chapter 11

Rome/Caleb

I stared at Abby in shock, willing to promise her anything if it would get her to calm down. I was terrified for her, and for Everly Rose.

“OK, I’ll go for now, but I’m going to call your sister to come stay with you. I’m not leaving you alone right now, especially as upset as you are.”

I wasn’t sure Abby even heard me as she slumped down onto the couch and buried her face in her hands. Her sobs tore through me, ripping away the remaining pieces of my soul that hadn’t already been destroyed by what I’d done.

I stepped onto the front porch and pulled the door closed behind me. I could still hear Abby sobbing, even through the door, and felt sick at what I’d done to her.

I fished my phone out of my pocket, my hands shaking so hard I had trouble pulling up Amelia’s contact. I tried to calm my breathing as I waited for her to pick up, not sure yet what the hell I was going to say to her. I just hoped to hell she wasn’t working a shift at the hospital. She was a nurse, but she didn’t normally work on Sundays.

“Hey Rome, what’s up?” she greeted me.

“Lia,” I had to stop to clear my throat. “Can you come over? Now? Abby’s upset, and she needs you.”

“Oh my God, is it Ethan? The baby?”
