I am desperate to be the one touching him. By the spark in D’Angelo’s eyes, I can tell that he knows.

Beautiful jerk.

D’Angelo leans down and kisses me, taking me by surprise. He stops touching himself to cage me. When he deepens the kiss, I attempt to push up into it, but he keeps me in place.

I submit to D’Angelo, relaxing back into the soft bedding.

When he finally pulls back, he slowly lets go of my lower lip like it hurts him to stop kissing me. “You’re perfect, cara mia.”

I attempt to drop my gaze, but he doesn’t allow me to.

“You are,” he insists. “Perfect for us.”

He drops a final light kiss on my lips, before pulling back to face Eden with a surprising sternness.

“Robyn’s praise of my admittedly remarkable cock hasn’t made me forget that we were talking about honesty.” D’Angelo’s expression becomes frosty. “I have trained you in this. Didn’t you read those books that I sent to you? The long documents that I wrote? You signed them. Tell me, what was the number one rule?”

Eden drags his hand away from mine, crossing his arms.

Shay glances between them worriedly. “Hey, don’t argue. You sound like an old married couple.”

Eden snorts.

“You signed your agreement to our contract,” D’Angelo presses. “You can write the word if you want but you are going to tell me.”

Shay sits up sharply. “Stop it. You can order me around as much as you like but you don’t get to do that to my brother.”

“Honesty,” Eden answers like it hurts him.

D’Angelo’s expression gentles but only slightly.

I feel sick and unsure.

D’Angelo must truly be worried if he is pushing like this.

How worried should I be about Eden’s health? What has he been hiding from us? Is he not healing like he should be?

I struggle to sit up against the headboard, as Shay cuddles against my side like he needs as much touch as possible right now. He is often a snugglebug after a scene.

He is pale with his gaze fixed on his brother.

“Pain level?” D’Angelo repeats the question that I asked earlier.

This time, Eden only hesitates a moment before he admits, “Three, bordering on four.”

“Four?” Shay bursts out, waving his arms. “You idiot, Dee. You’re meant to immediately seek help if you reach that level. Why didn’t you tell us?”

I grab Shay’s arms, stilling him. “Ease off.”

Except, the pit in my stomach has just yawned open.

Eden shrugs. “I have.”

“Have what?” D’Angelo bites out.

“Sought help. I used that app. I scheduled an extra physio session this afternoon with Code.”

My shoulders lower with relief. At least Eden has acted to look after his health and will be seeing a physio.
