TheWedding Marchswells softly through the hall, beckoning me to go inside.
I do.
I walk forward in my beautiful dress, my arm looped through Uncle Robert’s.
Behind me are Alexis, my maid of honor, and my bridesmaids: Aunt Bess and her three daughters.
We march into beauty beyond my imagination.
Though, to be fair, everything about Oheka Castle is beautiful.
Rows of white roses line the aisle alongside flickering candles while soft cream flowers spill from enormous arrangements atthe altar ahead. Beyond the windows, the castle gardens glow beneath the late spring sun.
Emotion rushes into my throat the closer I get to Levi.
This moment feels like my path toward forever.
Toward the life I never thought I’d get to have.
My heart warms when I get even closer and I see Arthur and Ellie Mae smiling proudly from the front row.
I’m so happy to see them I wave.
They wave back.
All these people somehow became part of my story.
And what a story I have to tell.
When I reach Levi, everybody else fades.
There’s just him.
Just those familiar eyes watching me with so much love it almost brings me to my knees.
Uncle Robert hands me over to him, and he immediately reaches for my hands.
The second our fingers touch, warmth spreads through me.
His thumb brushes softly over my knuckles as his eyes search mine.
We smile at each other.
Who would’ve thought?
After everything…
This all started with a dare.
I dare you…
Those three words will forever be engraved on my heart.
And I’m so glad I accepted the dare.
Levi and I belong to each other now.
