Alex shoves Paul off of him.

“That’s the fucking point, Kelly,” he says with a smirk.

“Point of what?” Mack asks as he drops next to Alex. Alex’s humorous smile turns to a sly grin and I don’t miss the glimmer of mischief in his eyes.

“Nothing,” he says nonchalantly as he sits up, scooting closer to Mack.

The DJ announces the last song, thanking everyone for coming, even though the only people left are us. Hudson takes his seat next to me, and I don’t think twice about shifting closer to him. Austen and Cameron make their way over to us with Andre behind them. Though Andre stands between Mack and Paul, hands in his pockets.

“So what do you say, Mr. Scott?” Cameron says with a knowing grin. He holds his hand out, palm up, imploring Austen with his gaze. His smile is almost as big as Austen’s.

I watch as he takes his husband’s hand and leads him out to the center of the dance floor as the soft sounds of Billie Eilish’sBirds Of A Featherfill the air.

None of us move as we watch them. Alex is the first to speak, his voice soft and warm.

“Dance with me?” He turns to Mack. “Please?” he pouts, his green eyes glistening with what look like the beginnings of tears, but I think that’s just the lighting.

Jordan lets out a sigh, and I think he’s going to say no, but… he doesn’t. He looks at Alex with a soft smile of defeat, and says, “Okay.” He grabs Alex by the hand and pulls him up. “Come on.”

I don’t miss the genuine smile on Alex’s face as he follows Jordan to the dance floor and they take their spot next to Austen and Cameron. Alex wraps his arms around Mack’s neck as he pulls him close, while Cameron and Austen glide across the floor like they own it.

Hudson clears his throat, pulling my attention.

“Do you—”

“Yes.” I grab Hudson’s hand and squeeze it tight. “I’d love to.”

Hudson smiles, and I pull him up from the couch, leading him to the floor. It’s a little awkward as we both try to go for each other’s hips, then each other’s neck, and Paul and Andre laugh as they knock into us—I think purposefully—because when they do, it forces Hudson to steady himself by grabbing my hips, and I take the chance to settle my hands around Hudson’s neck comfortably. His shoulders loosen as he pulls me closer, his amber gaze finding mine with familiar warmth as we find our groove, swaying with the music slowly. The twinkling lights cast an iridescent glow, lighting his hair up like a golden halo, making his amber eyes glisten with flecks of gold.

I nearly step on him and he lets out a grunt.

“Sorry,” I say with a blush of my own.

Hudson sighs.

I meet his gaze. “You can lead.”

Hudson smirks as I lean a little closer.

“I love it when you lead.” The words fall out of my mouth too easily. I shift my position against him, our bodies pressed together.

Hudson chuckles, the sound warm and smooth. “Is that so?”

I nod, my gaze drifting to his mouth.

“Yes,” I whisper. “On this dance floor…” My lips find that sweet spot beneath his ear, grazing his skin as I whisper, “In the bedroom.”

He grins, his gaze darkening.

Between the sounds of the music, the warm air, and the way he’s looking at me…

I don’t think, I just close the distance and kiss him. Hudson startles for a moment, but relaxes almost instantly, kissing me back, and I forget about everything and anything else. When I break away, I note the sexy grin on his face.

“I love it when you do that,” he says, his eyes glittering with excitement.

“I love you,” I say softly.

He pulls me closer, his gaze drifting to my mouth before he looks at me, and kisses me again.
