“What do you mean, no?”

“I mean, no, she isn’t here. I’m sorry, but I only speak English. If you’d like me to repeat it in any other language, I’m afraid we will have to use a dictionary or something.”

“Stop being a cheeky little shit and tell me where that bitch is.”

“She’s not here.” I smirked. “And she’s not outside.”

“I can fucking see that!” He was getting aggravated. Good.

“I would suggest you tone it down. We can talk like two grown men, can’t we?”

“We could talk like two grown men, if you actually accomplished what we agreed on. You and your idiots weren’t capable of subduing one girl? A girl!”

“First of all,” my voice turned serious, “that ‘girl’ you’re talking about is a woman you’re trying to fuck up. That ‘girl’ could kill a room full of grown-ass men before you could finish your breakfast. Second of all,” I lifted my index finger, “I have some questions I’d like to get answered.”

“I’m not telling you shit. We’re done here. Boys.” He turned to his guard.

“Na-uh-uh, not so fast.” I pulled my Springfield, our insignia etched into the gun’s handle. “Call them off.”

“You fucker—”

“Call them off, or your blood will join your son’s on this floor. Call your guys off.”

His jaw ticked and I could almost hear him gritting his teeth.

“You are not going to get out of this. We had a deal, goddammit.”

“And now I’m calling it off.” I grinned. “I won’t repeat myself again, Logan. Call these baboons off or I swear to God, I will color these walls with your brain.”

“You’re a motherfu—”

“Call them off!” I roared. I knew that both Atlas and Indigo had their guns up. I could see them from the corner of my eye. But we were outnumbered at the moment, and I had no idea what the situation outside was. Knowing what a slithering snake this asshole was, he probably had sniper rifles aimed on the entrance of the church.

“Lower your weapons,” he muttered finally. “What do you want, Storm?”

“I want fucking answers.” I came closer to him, taking his arm and leading him toward the altar. I pushed him down, his eyes level with my hips. With my gun still aimed at his head, I crouched down looking into his eyes.

“A little bird told me that Kieran maybe wasn’t the one that gave that order.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Oh, you know. You definitely know. Stop playing fucking games with me and tell the truth for once in your life.”

“Whatever I tell you, you’re just going to kill me.”

“Hmm.” I shrugged. “Maybe. Maybe not. I’ve been feeling rather generous lately. Maybe you’ll get to live so that you can tell your pal Nikolai that I’m coming for his ass as well.”

“Nikolai will eat you alive—”

“No, you idiot. I will eat him and spit him to the ground. I am just worried that my digestive system won’t be able to handle such an amount of poison. Now,” I pressed the barrel of the gun to his forehead, “who gave the order for the massacre that happened here?”

“Please, Storm.” He trembled in front of me. “I am sure we can work something out.”

“Can you bring all those people your guys killed back to life?”

“No, but—”

“Then there’s nothing we can work out. Nothing at all. The only thing you can do right now is tell me the truth. Who the fuck gave the order?”
