Now that I thought about it, her and Storm were more alike than I wanted them to be. Neither one of them had mercy, and they didn't care who got hurt as long as they got what they wanted.

It was funny, really. I hated his guts, but I also admired him. He was always honest about who and what he was.

From the first time I met him when he just became president, he was honest about his intentions. My stupidity brought us here, thinking their MC wouldn't seek retribution for what our idiots did.

They were supposed to scare them, to get them away from this territory so that we could take over, but no, they had to kill all of those innocent people.

I guess that was what you get when you send brainless twats to do your job. Now I knew better, and that was why this time, the three of us were on the front lines of this war.

I fucking hoped this wouldn't end up becoming a full-blown war, because we definitely couldn't afford it. Between the Syndicate, the Albanians and the Cartel, we couldn't afford to have the Sons of Hades as our mortal enemies.

I couldn't stand the staring match the two of them were having anymore, and for some reason, no matter what transpired between the two of us, I still wanted to protect her.

I wanted to take her away, hide her, erase our memories and the past that haunted us.

I wanted to forget what I did, what she did.

What both of us were guilty of.

I took a step forward but Atlas, the ever-loyal dog of Storm, stopped me by placing a hand on my chest and pushing me backwards.

"What the fuck, man?" I started angrily, pushing his hands off of me.

"Boss's orders, Kieran. Nobody moves a muscle until he says so."

"Both of you can fuck off, right now." I pushed at his chest, and both Cillian and Tristan came closer, standing right behind me. "We’re here, and we're ready to talk. Or are you going to continue behaving like kids with this whole, 'darkness is me' crap?"

A laughter echoed throughout the church, several of their soldiers joining their leader in the cackling match. I turned to Storm, his dark stare already fixated on me. If Hell ever needed a new leader, they knew where to look.

He was standing right in front of me.

"Kieran, Kieran, Kieran," he started as he approached me. "That ego of yours always made me laugh. It was kinda annoying if I am honest, but it also made me laugh so many times."

"Fuck off, Storm."

"See." He cackled again. "Hilarious. Especially given the fact that you're surrounded, we have your mommy dearest, and yet, you still dare to give orders in my house, to my people, and even more, to me."

I looked at Ophelia who seemed to observe our interaction with newfound interest, and I couldn't help myself but wonder.

"Did you have anything to do with this, birdy?"

"Birdy?" Storm laughed again. "Oh God, you just made my night. Hell, you made my whole month."

"No, I didn't, you asshole. If I did," she smiled, "I would've told you so. I was never the one to hide my plans from you."

"How could I ever forget? You only failed to mention you were going to kill my sister."

She started advancing toward me, but Storm stepped in front, blocking her from me. The three-headed dog on his back glared at me, and I wanted to punch Atlas and remove her from Storm.

He took a hold of her arms and bending his head, he whispered in her ear. And whatever it was he said, she calmed down, her body going slack in his hold. I wasn't going to lose her to some biker who probably didn't know how to handle a gun like a real man.

But he does, you know that.

Oh fuck off, subconsciousness. Now wasn't the time to tell me what's wrong and what's right. He was an asshole. Period.

"How do you two know each other?" My curiosity was killing me. I had to know how it was possible that she seemed to listen to him, when she never ever listened to me.

I was never able to calm her down. She never went slack in my arms like she just now did in his. She never even allowed me to touch her in one of her fits of rage. My head would be flying off faster than you could say sex.
