Auraelie rolled her eyes. “Of course I love you. I’m crossing the Storm Barrier for you.”
She knew he had to feel the same way. Forget her thoughts about him marrying someone else because of his responsibilities as a prince—she hadn’t seen him with another woman in any of his futures. She hadn’t seen herself because she would wear a null charm; she recognized that now. All the gray spots she had seen in his future were the turning points she affected.
Sebin stood up again, and this time she didn’t back away when he reached for her.
“I love you, Auraelie. I love you more than can fit into a single lifetime. There is no future where I do not love you, no future I want without you. Marry me.”
“Yes.”
Their lips met. Heat and spice flooded Auraelie’s veins. She pressed closer to Sebin, tried to push him back down into the chair, but he maneuvered her backward instead. When she expected to feel the wood of the door against her back, though, he stopped and spun her around instead.
He had opened the door, and now he nudged her into the passageway.
She tried to find coherent words, but only managed a weak, “Sebin?”
“Captain Sendion can perform a wedding ceremony.”
“Wait. What? Now?”
“I don’t want to wait for the future to come, I’m chasing it down now.”
That was a sentiment Auraelie could support. She grabbed Sebin’s hand. “I think he was on deck earlier. Let’s go.”
