Her fangs tingled as the beat of his heart awakened another hunger. Her fingers bit into his nape, but no matter how badly she yearned to taste him, she restrained herself.
He wanted to leave this place behind, and if she bit him now, she’d never keep herself restrained from fucking him until they both screamed in ecstasy. Beneath her hands, his body shook from the restraint it took for him to keep from finishing what they both desperately craved.

As she bent to kiss him again, he moved within her.

Cole realized toolate that taking her out of the cave might not have been his best idea. The shadows created by the towering mountains were more abundant, with the sun spilling down on them.
As they crept closer, their incessant whispering grew louder. However, the increasing aroma of Lexi’s scent and the feel of her body moving against his drowned out the chatter of the shadows, but they refused to be completely quiet.
The shadows crept closer until they surrounded them while Cole brought her to the ground. He didn’t break the kiss; he couldn’t as he thrust into her with his shaft and tongue.
His mouth muffled her delicious sounds as her teeth scraped his lip and her fingers dug into his back as she urged him onward. He braced himself between her legs as he grasped her thighs and pulled her more firmly against him as their mouths broke apart.

Turningher mouth into Cole’s neck, Lexi relished the pleasure Cole gave her as the dark fae feasted on her, the shadows caressed her, and the lycan marked its mate. Ravenous, she sank her fangs into his throat and started to feed.

Beneath the assault of those emotions, and as he pushed her closer to release, her control over her shield crumbled. It was impossible to keep it up when everything was falling apart and coming back together around her.
When the glow spread across her body, the shadows started to retreat, but there was nowhere to go as her light ensnared them. Cole relinquished his bite on her shoulder as the silver markings came to life across her skin.
He kissed her throat up toward her cheek. She craved more of his blood, but she released her bite and turned to meet his mouth.

That jolt reverberated throughout her muscles and bones until it shook her soul. It delved deep as it swirled and combined with her until it flooded her with strength and became a part of the very essence of her soul.
As the kiss deepened, it changed a fundamental part of her until she felt something new seeping inside her. It caressed her skin and dug into her bones until it crept through every aspect of her. It didn’t take much time to realize what it was either…
The shadows.
