I twist around fully, push him off, and run to the other end of the cabin.
I spin around, panting from the exertion but also the adrenaline that’s like fire in my veins.
Luke stands, hands at his hips, smiling.
“I did it,” I state as it hits me. “I got away.”
“Come here,” he says.
“What? Why?”
“Brown Eyes…come here.”
Oh…OH.
His body language melts from proud bodyguard to the hot, tattooed cowboy who promises very bad things that I will fully enjoy every second of.
My chest heaves breaths for another reason entirely now. I slowly approach. The extra sway in my hips is instinctual. I swear, I don’t purposely do it…until I notice I am. I stand chest to chest, looking up into his heated green stare.
“Do I get a reward, Captain?”
His nose flares. “Depends…”
“On?” My voice takes on a tone I’ve never used before.
“Take me down.”
“What?”
“I’ve taught you the foundation. Take me to the ground,” he says, confident I can.
Um…okay.
Challenge accepted. Especially because I know we’re not really having an actual lesson right now. I can play dirty.
I step back, leaving space between us and watch him track every move. Fighting a grin, I reach for the hem of his shirt I’m wearing and pause. Luke’s brow arches. Keeping my expression carefree, I slowly pull his shirt up my torso, revealing my bare breasts and take it off.
“Brown Eyes?”
Without answering, I drag my leggings down my legs in profile so he can see my ass. I kick them off and face him fully naked.
He wants me to take him to the ground? With pleasure.
I’ve only ever done this once and hated it.
Just imagining the heat and weight of him in my mouth has me wet between my inner thighs.
I strut toward him, holding his stare before pressing my palms over his chest. His heart beats rapidly against my hand. He doesn’t move. Keeps steady with his hands still at his hips. He’s letting me play, and I love that.
I slowly glide my palms down his shirt until I reach the waistband of his sweats. I tip my fingers in feeling the soft trail of hair that tickles my skin. The muscles under his belly button tighten at my touch. I keep my eyes on him, watching his reaction as I push the sweats down his body.
I kneel, taking them with me, looking up at this beautiful man who in a week’s time has turned my world inside out.
I tried to tell myself this was just the adrenaline of danger pulling us together but I knew deep down that was a lie. I’ve never felt connected to another man at first glance. And the more time with him only made that connection better.
Luke makes me feel safe, yes, but also free.
I don’t have to be proper Anna, polite Anna, traditional Anna. I can be myself, as I am. And he wants her. That true version of me. I see it.
