The only thing Enzo’s insisted on is the tightening of the rules, and I understand why he’s enforcing them. He made it clear what I needed to do and he’s given me little leeway, determined I’ll learn to obey him. He’s as terrified of losing me as I am by what Eva did, and this is his way of coping—and the structure helps me exist.

It's one less thing to think about and it lifts a burden off my shoulders.

I finally give in to the reality of consciousness and sit up, taking in my surroundings. The room is vast. It’s absolutely stunning. There’s pale grey wallpaper and soft modern paintings. Dark wooden furniture doesn’t overpower the lightairy space and the sitting area by the window looks perfect to relax in.

It's extravagant but not overpowering. It’s opulent but not oppressive. Everything is expensive. Everything is new. Everything is what I would choose if I were decorating a bedroom.

I get up to wander around and my neck catches, sharply pulling me back toward the bed. My heart rate accelerates as my fingers grasp my collar, finding the chain that ties me to the headboard.

It’s locked.

It’s obviously locked.

And there’s not a chance the padlock’s coming undone.

The door flies open and Enzo marches through it. Our eyes meet and his light with amusement—and lust. His slightly ragged breathing and tense forearms suggest he’s aroused and he walks toward the bed slowly, deliberately, like a predator stalking its prey.

He’s still a monster. A beautiful monster. One that would never hurt me and who I want despite all his darkness.

“You chained me to the bed?”

His chin dips. “You were exhausted and I had work to do. Half this fucking house needed fixing, and you’re far too precious for me to risk you wandering off again.”

I roll my eyes and tug on the chain, mildly irritated by this demonic display of affection. “It can’t have taken you that long.”

“You wanted a house, Adriana. A fucking big one, as I recall. There are over a hundred rooms, including a library.” He walks closer. “I assumed you’d appreciate some equally hugegardens. They run down to the river so you can watch the bloody boats to your little heart’s content.”

“Oh. My. God.”

Enzo hisses. “Don’t blaspheme.” He smirks. “Do you like it, baby?”

“A lot,” I mumble.

“Good. You can see the rest later. It’s going to blow your fucking mind.” Enzo plants a kiss on the top of my head. “I want you to have this, Adi. Just ask for what you want and you can have it.”

I nod and lean against the bed.

“Look at you, baby. My collar. That chain. My bed. Fuck.”

He grabs me and pulls me against him. Enzo smiles and my heart races as it beats so fast I wonder if it’ll ever recover. He’s breathtaking when he’s this carefree and I submerge myself in the ebony of his eyes, finding fulfillment in the oblivion they contain. His head dips and his lips brush against mine, and then he kisses me. Deeply. Powerfully. Dominantly.

“On the bed, baby.”

My clit pulses with heat as my pussy drips, and my silk shorts start getting wet. I push my legs together to ease the ache and Enzo’s eyes darken until the starlight bursts and sparks of crimson ignite.

“Now, sweet girl. Before I throw you on it and fuck you senseless.”

“You’re going to fuck me senseless anyway, Daddy.”

Enzo cocks an eyebrow as I move back onto the bed. “Let’s put that mouth of yours to good use, baby.”

My arousal becomes too hot to handle as I watch Enzo unbuckling his belt. He’s teasing me and every clink the metal makes sends another wave of heat into my clit. He pulls his dick out and the bead of precum at its tip glistens. It’s enticing and I stick my tongue out and lick it away, tasting the sharpness of blood oranges and the sweetness of summer fruit.

“Open.”

I obey, and Enzo slides his cock into my mouth, easing it toward my throat. He’s more careful than usual and his movements aren’t as harsh. He thrusts deeply but softly and the taste of his dick is divine.

“I want your throat. Open wide for Daddy.”
