Any of those things could have tipped the balance, but Cole guessed it was a mix of the first two. Word probably travelled quickly around here. He sensed the glances sent his way, the eyes on him as he followed Logan to their usual table.
Are they looking at my tattoo or my neck?
No sooner had they sat down than a couple of people joined them. Cole recognised the guy, Fletcher, from training, but not the girl. Aaron and Logan seemed to know her though.
“Karen,” Logan said, smiling at her and then gesturing to Cole with his fork. “Meet Cole.”
She smiled at him. “Hi.”
“Hi.”
“Karen’s part of Jacob’s team.”
So part of Logan and Aaron’s.
Jealously raised its ugly head, and Cole was quick to bat it away.
Don’t be ridiculous.
“What are you doing here?” Logan asked, glancing between her and Fletcher. “I thought Jacob had the rest of our team working out of the pack offices?”
“He does.” She grinned and shrugged a shoulder. “I’m just here for lunch.”
Logan chuckled, looking more relaxed than he usually did when surrounded by members of Paul’s team. “Of course you are.” Seeing one of his own must help.
How will he feel when I’m a fully-fledged member of Paul’s team?
Cole swallowed that thought along with his food.
Logan’s foot nudged his under the table and Cole smiled.
They’d be fine.
