“Yes, that sounds like the best idea ever.”

He let Logan lead him into the bathroom, where they shed their clothing in a pile on the floor.

Logan leant inside the shower and turned the water on while Cole admired the curve of his arse and the breadth of his shoulders.

This was a far cry from the showers at the training centre.

Here they could take their time.

When Logan straightened, he held out a hand and Cole took it, following Logan under the hot spray. Water cascaded over them, their scents filling the enclosed space until it was all Cole could smell.

He backed Logan up against the tiled wall and kissed him. The moment their mouths met, Cole felt something snap and reform inside him. Heat racing through his veins like molten lava. It hadn’t felt like this in London, too much fear and uncertainty to ever let himself fall into Logan like this. But here, in the relative safety of Isaac Mothecombe’s Flete Estate, Cole felt freer than he ever had.

Free to let his instinct guide him, to give in to whatever his wolf and his human side were both telling him.

Logan is mineif I want him.

And Cole did, with every part of his being.

Without conscious thought he threaded his fingers into Logan’s hair and tipped his head to one side, exposing his neck and trailing kisses along the skin until his mouth reached the base of his throat. He felt a tingling in his gums, the urge to force his fangs out so sudden and all-consuming he was powerless to do anything but let it happen.

Pain lanced through him, but Cole ignored it, something far greater spurring him on.

“Cole?” Logan stilled, his hands tightening on Cole’s back. “Do you know what you’re doing?” he asked softly, hands running up and down Cole’s spine.

“Yeah.” Cole lightly scraped the tips of his fangs over Logan’s skin, making him suck in a breath. “Think so.”

“You think so?” Logan asked, moaning softly as Cole ground his hips against him. “If we do this, there’s no going back.” His fingers dug into Cole’s lower back and he growled. “We’ll be bonded. Is that what you want?”

Cole closed his eyes, letting go of the half-shift and allowing his mind to drift for a moment. Logan had told him his wolf and human side weren’t separate parts of him, but one whole. Until this moment he’d never truly grasped that, but now he did. He felt in tune with his body in a way he hadn’t since Max had bitten him.

It wasn’t human instinct or wolf instinct telling him to bite Logan and join them together for life. He wanted this with everything he was. “I can’t pretend you’re not mine, Logan. I don’t want to.”

“You’re mine too, but this...” He eased Cole back to meet his gaze and ran a gentle thumb over where his fangs had been. “This is forever.”

“Don’t you want that?” Cole asked, certain he knew the answer even before Logan grinned at him.

“You know I do,” he said, leaning in for a kiss. “More than anything.”

“Then what are we waiting for?” Neither of them knew what the future held, and Cole didn’t want to waste another second being apart.

Logan held his gaze for the longest moment, then a beautiful smile broke out. “Not in here, though. I don’t want to explain to Isaac how we broke his shower.”

Cole wasted no time turning the shower off and hauling Logan out with him. He grabbed a towel, threw one to Logan, and dried himself off as quickly as he could.

They fell onto the bed in a tangle of limbs, Logan pinning him to the bed as they kissed.

“How do we do this?” Cole bit Logan’s lip and rolled them over.

“You were all set to bite me five minutes ago, and now you’re asking how it works?”

Cole shrugged. “I was in the moment.”

Logan’s hands slid down to the base of Cole’s spine, and his expression turned serious. “You just need to bite me here.” He traced a finger above his collarbone. “If there’s intent on both sides, the bond will take.”

“As easy as that?”

“Yes.”
