As a result, the days seemed to all blend into one for Logan.

He and Aaron escorted Cole to training every morning. Ate lunch in the cafeteria, then escorted Cole back to his flat.

Rinse and Repeat.

Logan remained Cole’s sparring partner, and Cole fought like he had that first day; hard, holding nothing back.

The only difference was Logan’s skills as a fighter were improving because of it, and occasionally Paul made Aaron join in too. Much to his horror.

They went easier on Aaron than Logan thought they would’ve done him, but Aaron still came away broken and bruised.

Paul’s team seemed to get more comfortable with Cole as the days went on, and Logan didn’t know how to feel about that.

On the one hand, this was exactly what they wanted, for Cole to be accepted, but the more it happened, the more Logan felt like he was losing him.

Which was fucking ridiculous and he hated this new side to his personality.

When his and Aaron’s shifting ban finally expired, Logan almost cried with joy.

As they walked Cole back to his flat—accompanied by Smith and Fletcher, much to Logan’s annoyance—he was almost bouncing with excitement.

Having two tagalongs was putting a damper on things though. That was another thing that had started happening in the last day or so.

Paul’s team had started to become friendly.

They talked now.

Only brief greetings to Cole at first, then a sentence here and there. Today was the first time anyone had asked to come back to his flat though. On the premise of going through more interrogation techniques with Cole.

All this meant Logan’s chances of ever getting alone time with Cole were reduced to a big fat zero.

And that made him restless and possibly a bit of an arsehole. According to Aaron anyway.

“I hear your shifting ban’s up today?” Smith asked as they walked along the corridor.

“Yep.”

Cole glanced at him over his shoulder. “So you’re going to shift tonight and what?” He looked at Aaron, then back at Logan. “Run together?”

The longing in Cole’s eyes sucked some of the excitement from him, and Logan cursed Smith for bringing it up. “Something like that.”

“Fuck, you’re so lucky. I’ve only shifted once.” Cole’s gaze met Logan’s again, a trace of heat there now too.

Logan swallowed thickly as images from that early morning on the beach flooded his mind. It felt like a lifetime ago but also not something he should be thinking about with Smith and Fletcher walking behind him.

“The full moon’s coming up,” Fletcher supplied. “And they’ll have to let you run then. It’s pack law.”

“Is it?” Cole looked to Logan for confirmation.

“Yeah. Jacob told us we have to accompany you on the full moon.”

“Nice.” Cole grunted and Logan rolled his eyes. He knew what he meant. “When is it?”

“August third. The moon’s at its fullest about four in the afternoon, but we’ll be running after sunset.” Fletcher again.

Fucking know-it-all.

“So just under two weeks.” Cole sighed.
