“By the Goddess, Logan, you’ve shaved years off my life.” Jacob sat back in his chair, gaze flicking from Logan to Aaron and back again. “I hope you realise what a fucking lucky escape the two of you just had?” He didn’t wait for an answer. “Telling Michael McKillan how to run his pack could get you in some serious trouble.”
“I realise that—”
“Do you?” Jacob sat forward so suddenly, both Logan and Aaron flinched. “I’ve seen him put shifters in the hospital for something like that. We don’t need his attention on the two of you any more than it already is.” His heavy sigh was just as bad as his glare.
“I’m sorry.” Logan scrubbed a hand over his face. “This is on me, not Aaron. I just...”
I just wanted to make Cole happy.
“I know what you were trying to do, Logan.” Jacob’s expression softened a fraction. “But Cole is on probation in this pack. You need to treat him like you would anyone else in that position. No special favours. Not yet.”
“Yeah. Okay.”
