“I know. I’m sorry.”
With a sigh, Cole finally put some much-needed distance between them.
Logan hated it immediately.
“We’ve been through this; you have nothing to be sorry for. This was my idea.”
Logan huffed. “Yours and Aaron’s.”
“I suppose,” Cole conceded. “But my point remains.” His lips curved up into a soft smile. “We just need to get through this part, right? Make them start to trust me. Then hopefully I can get out of this fishbowl and we can maybe get some privacy.”
“Yeah.” Not that it was going to happen any time soon and they both knew it.
They stared at each other for a moment, and Logan was the one to step back this time, walking over to the wardrobe and opening it wide. An array of training outfits layered the shelves and Logan selected a couple of pieces for Cole. “Here,” he said, tossing them to him. “I’m not sure what they’ve got planned for you today, so we’ll go with the basics.”
The basics consisted of loose-fitting, lightweight tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt in the same material.
Cole caught them and held them out to examine. “Not bad, I guess.”
“Right.” Logan moved past him, giving him a wide berth. “I’ll leave you to get changed.” Not waiting for a response, Logan hurried out of the room before temptation got the better of him.
No sooner had he joined Aaron in the living room, the front door opened. Rich and Smith walked in, and Logan bit back a complaint about them not knocking first.
Aaron obviously didn’t feel like doing the same. “Ever heard of knocking?”
Rich shrugged, eyebrows drawing together. “It’s not like we can’t get in.”
“But you have manners. This is a secure flat, not a prison cell. There’s a difference.”
Obviously not where Paul’s team were concerned if their expressions were anything to go by.
“Is he ready to go?” Rich asked, looking around for Cole.
“Yeah,” Cole answered as he appeared at the living room door. “He is.”
Fuck me.
Training gear fit him like a second skin.
Loose-fitting, my arse!
The material clung to his thighs, outlining the muscles there, and the T-shirt pulled a little tight over his chest. Logan looked away quickly and focused on Smith instead. “Let’s go.”
