Nick huffed. “Delayed my interrogation for a bit. Works for me.”

“It also helps Jacob,” Aaron offered. “Wouldn’t do him any favours if all the traitors were in his team. At least Paul will get the same amount of shit.”

“I’d love—” Smith broke off as the van came to an abrupt halt.

The passenger door opened, and they heard footsteps dash across the ground. The sound of breaking glass followed. Another car door opened, then closed a few minutes later.

“What the fuck is going on?” Logan murmured as they all listened to Michael’s footsteps as he returned to the van.

The passenger door slammed closed and the van sped off, gravel kicking up in its wake. The front of the van must be soundproofed after all, because as hard as Cole tried, he couldn’t hear anything. “What was that?” he whispered.

Logan shrugged and rested his head back. “I have no fucking idea.”
