Tommy
We left a path of death and destruction in our wake.
Everyone who stepped in our way died a bloody death.
The others ran.
They had heard of me. But hearing the stories and seeing my true form were two very different things.
I felt powerful. For the first time in centuries, I was in control of my dark side. And it felt amazing. I basked in the power flowing through my veins.
I was powerful.
I was...
My steps faltered as I pushed open the wide wooden doors to the same room Acco had held his auction in all those weeks ago.
Briella was up on stage, bent over a table so all I could see was her round ass and the trickles of blood running down her thighs.
She was exposed for all to see. Her legs trembled as she fought against invisible bonds.
“Ah, I see Briella's special guest has arrived. Welcome, Bloody Bones.”
Acco’s oily voice had me tearing my eyes away from my mate.
“I am glad you made it.” He smiled his snake smile. “Do you see how she quivers under my touch?” He ran his hands up her parted thighs, and I was powerless to look away. Next to me, I knew my men were seeing what I was, and I hated it.
I hated that he had spread her wide for everyone to look at.
A low menacing growl filled the room, and it took Raze's hand on my arm before I realised it was me.
“Head in the game, Bloody Bones. You can beat us all for seeing her like this once we get her from him. Concentrate.”
I knew he was right. It didn't make it any easier, but he was right.
“I have come for my mate.”
Acco laughed, one clawed finger slipping between her legs. Briella cried out, her head thrashing as she struggled to get away from him. Turning her head, she looked at me for the first time.
Really looked. Her beautiful tear-filled eyes widened into saucers.
I held my breath, waiting for the scream.
She was seeing me for the first time. The real me. Not the human skin I wore to walk around with them. I knew I was grotesque.
“Tommy?” She mouthed my name silently.
I wanted to go to her, to tell her not to be scared. That I was still the man she had grown to care for, but my tongue was stuck to the roof of my mouth.
“You mean my mate, yes?'' Acco slipped a finger tipped with Briella's blood into his mouth. Sucking on it. He had made her bleed. He had hurt her for my benefit. To punish me for something.
Acco’s hatred for me couldn't be denied. I had no idea why, but he hated me with a passion that eclipsed all else.
“See how I coat her skin, Bloody Bones. How I drip from her body. Watch as I take her and know there is nothing you can do to stop me.”
Nothing I could do? Either I was missing something important or he was a fool. So confident in his own powers that he foolishly wasn't afraid of me.
Taking a step forward, I forced myself to calm down. “Let her go, Acco. She is mine.”
