“These came for you.” A small woman pushed the giant bunch of yellow roses into my arms before I could even say hello.
“Who from?” Peering around the bunch, I eyed her thoughtfully.
“He didn't leave a name, handsome guy though.”
I smiled before I could help myself. It had to be Tommy. Who else could it be?
“So do we have a deal?” Raze muttered the moment the door shut.
With my face still pressed into the soft petals, I nodded. “Yes, if you can help me...but Tommy is not going to be happy about it.”
“You leave Tommy to me, Briella.” Frowning, he stared at the flowers I was lovingly holding. “I'm going to go get him. You stay inside this room until we get back, ok? Promise me.” His frown deepened the more he stared at the yellow roses.
“I promise.”
“I mean it, Briella. If I let him down again, Tommy will have me strung up. Stay here.”
“I will.” I plucked the white card that had been hidden amongst the yellow blossoms as Raze headed out the door in just his towel. He wasn't even halfway across the parking lot before he turned back into his wolf form and bolted from view.
Then the blood drained from my face as I read the card.
