Chapter Twelve

Gent

“Fuck.” Gent moved quickly. Using his much wider body to shield me from view. Not that it mattered now, they had all seen.

We must have been so engrossed in each other that we hadn’t even heard them arrive, let alone knock on the door and make their way into the garden when we didn’t answer.

“Get dressed.” His fingers closed my blouse over my naked chests. It didn’t seem to matter to him that his jeans were around his ankles and his bare ass on display. Gent thought about me first. Just like a gentleman. His lips brushed over mine, and for a second, I forgot the audience we had in the garden as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

Someone outside wolf-whistled loudly, and I ducked my head into his chest as he laughed. “Dressed, Gem.”

He stood there as I righted my clothes, his eyes never leaving me. And it was only when I had pulled my panties into place under my skirt that he finally turned.

“You guys are assholes.” With a sigh, he unlocked the kitchen door. Letting them all file through. Their faces were red from laughing. “How long have you been fucking watching?”

Part of me expected it to be one of the men that answered, so it came as a surprise when it was Chelsea. Her sing-song girly laughter filled the airy kitchen. “Long enough for Wicked to get a hard-on.”

I blinked at her in surprise. She said it like she was totally ok with it.

“Hey.” She shrugged. “He’s a man. He is going to look. It’s if he touches...”

Wicked didn’t let her finish. “I never would.” He pressed a kiss to her hair. “Does someone want to tell me where you want all the food so we can get this party started?”

“Food? Party?” I asked dumbly.

The room around me erupted into more laughter.

“Of course, Gem.” Wicked tapped the cut I still had on. “This is to be celebrated. Welcome to the family, finally.” He kissed my cheek. “Now, can someone tell me where the food goes?”

“Kitchen counter is fine. It’s not like we have furniture in here.” Gent pulled me gently to his side. His arm was heavy on my shoulders.

“Actually...” I blushed scarlet. “I probably should clean them first.”

Loud, rumbling laughter echoed off the walls as they doubled over and laughed.

“That might be an idea.” Cali giggled. “Seeing as you just had your naked ass on it.”

“It wouldn’t be the ass on it that worried me.” Chuckling, Truth winked. “It’s whatever else Gent got all over it.”

My lips curled. Sometimes they were really gross. But I figured I really should clean down the sides.

Just in case anything had ‘spilt’.

“So...” Cali’s arm went around my shoulders as she led me out into the garden. “I take it things are good between you and Gent?”

Shooting her a sideways glance, I tried and failed to hide the smile on my face. “Yeah, it’s good,” I admitted finally. “Better than good, actually.” I giggled.

She hugged me a little tighter, and my head dropped to her shoulder. “I could tell. He’s crazy about you, isn’t he?”

“I don’t know about that. I mean, he asked me to marry him, but….”

Cali whirled me around. Her hands were tight on my arms. “He did what?”

“He asked me to marry him. I mean, it wasn’t a real proposal, but yeah, he did.” I shrugged.

“Why wasn’t it a real proposal?”
