“We should get you back to the house to prepare.” I didn’t need to tell her that this time I would be locked in her confinement with her. We would come together violently. All need and passion.

“No please.” She gripped at my wrist and it took a second to realise that she didn’t want me to stop. Laughing I bent down, pressing my lips to her head. “I am not going to stop yet Bree, don’t worry about that. I’m not going to stop.”

Chapter Eleven

Bree

My father was nervous, I could see it in the way he kept looking at me out of the corner of his eyes. But I paid him no mind. I wasn’t nervous, and even if I was. What right did he have to be nervous? He had been the one that had agreed to this union. He had sold me like cattle. He had always planned to sell me. It was something I would never forget but I could forgive him. Because of his actions, I had met the alpha I wanted. Sure I hadn’t known at first but I knew now.

So I wasn’t nervous at all. My whole body trembled beneath the red satin but it wasn’t from nerves.

It was because I was ready. Ready to be taken and mated.

“You look, beautiful daughter.” He finally said. And I nodded my thanks. I felt beautiful. “Thank you, Daddy.” Dutifully I kissed his cheek. It was strange to think that these next few days would be the last I spent under his roof. Once I had been marked and my heat was over I would leave with Kaelan.

“But you do not need to do this yet, maybe you should wait.”

“No.” I shook my head, my curls bouncing. “I don’t want to wait.” And I didn’t, after the way Kaelan had made my body sing earlier I knew waiting was out of the question. “I am going to retire now papa, can you..”

He didn't let me finish. “When the Alpha Kaelan arrives I will have him sent up to you.”

He didn’t come, darkness fell and the house grew silent and still, the door didn’t open. And the longer I waited the more anxious I was.

Where was he?

He had promised that he would be back before dark and it was already pitch black outside. I could feel the first cramps start to take hold. The full ache that always came before the full-on pain. It was this part more than any others that I hated the most. The waiting for it to take a hold of my body properly because I knew what was coming.

I had been hoping that Kaelan would be here to see me through from beginning to end but as the hours went passed I started to believe that he wasn’t coming.

Settling myself into the middle of my best, I fluffed one stray pillow. Straightening it so it was in the perfect position. There was one thing missing though. Making a wild sound in the back of my throat, I padded towards my clothes trunk. I had hidden it right at the bottom so it wouldn’t be washed.

Bringing the shirt to my chest I climbed back into the centre of my perfectly made nest. Arching my back I rolled into it. Trying to find the perfect spot. It was only when I found it that I let my legs part, with one hand dragging up the long red skirts and with the other bringing Kaelans shirt up so I could bury my face in it.

I needed to touch myself but I wanted his scent in my lungs when I did. At least that way I could pretend it was him touching my body.

Letting my fingers play over my throbbing flesh, remembering how he had touched me only hours before.

Moaning softly I slipped a finger inside my body. Working it around and around just like he had.

“Don’t stop.” Kaelan’s voice was gravelly but he wasn’t speaking from the doorway. His voice was coming from the window. My head lifted in shock. “Did you just climb in through the window like a criminal?”

Throwing back his head he laughed. “Old habits die hard Bree.” His eyes swept down my body, lingering on my spread legs and the hand that was working furiously between them. “Now don’t stop, let me watch you stretch yourself.”

I wanted to argue back, beg him to replace my hands with his own but no sound came out. There could be no arguing with the alpha command in his voice.

Instead, I settled myself back against my pillows, I didn’t need to open my eyes to know he had joined me. I could feel his eyes on me. Staring at me so intently they seemed to scorch my skin.

“You are so beautiful in red.” His voice stroked along my skin, so sensual it felt like I was being touched all over. “I think I will have you in red every single day.”

Moaning I increased my pace, his shirt pressed against my face so I could breathe him in. Not that I needed it now. He was here.

The growl that erupted from him was feral. “That’s enough of that Bree. I can’t stand it anymore. Watching your fingers slide in and out of your body when I know it should be me.” He caught my wrist easily as I blinked up at him with wide eyes. My breath hitched in my throat as I took him in.

I wasn’t even sure when he had taken his clothes off, sometime between the window and my bed. For the first time since I had met him, I got to see all of him. His tanned skin, bathed in sweat and glistening. And it was a beautiful body. Wide in the shoulders but narrow in the waist. And solid. Every part of him looked solid. Like he was made from rock.

Every. Single. Part.
