In horror, I watched as he kissed her, watched as her hands tried to push him away, and I was up and out of my chair in a second. Wicked at my heels.

He might not understand my interest in Cali, but he had my back.

“I’m going to fucking kill him.”

A sudden commotion drew my attention back to Cali, and my eyes widened in shock. I had only looked away for a second and in that time she had suddenly bound out of her seat, her face set as she forced her would-be attackers arm up roughly up behind his back.

Behind me, Wicked laughed. “Well, she can handle herself.” He sounded impressed. Which was no easy feat.

I had to admit I was impressed as well. I liked the fact that she could look after herself. I liked it a lot. But I was still going over there.

He hadn’t just disrespected her, he had disrespected me. And disrespect was unforgivable.

“You ok Cali?” I kept my eyes on the man in front of me. Not looking at her. I didn’t want her to see the darkness in my eyes. The monsters were coming out to play.

In answer, she lifted his arm up higher, and he groaned. “Yep fine.” She smiled sweetly.

“Fucking bitch, I think my shoulder is dislocated.”

Had he really just called her a bitch right in front of me? Gripping his chin, I stared down at him. “Who exactly are you calling a bitch?”

He paled slightly. I knew what he saw. The monsters weren’t coming out to play; they were already out.

“She was going to let me buy her a drink I thought….”

My grip tightened. “Who does that cut belong to old man?” I pulled his face so he could see it.

“You.”

“So who does she belong to?”

“You.” His voice was miserable. “Truth I didn’t know…. I.”

I didn’t let him finish. “Cali let go and go back to your stool.” I hated ordering, but my control was slipping. And slipping fast.

She let go instantly, scuttling backwards in the nick of time. The moment she let go, I dragged him to his full height.

My head cracked against his nose, and the blood was instant. I didn’t even give him a chance to recover before I head-butted him again.

“Wha…”

Faintly I heard Cali say something, but I was too gone to pay much notice.

“Brother, I am sorry... I didn’t know.” He was begging now.

“I am not your brother, friend.” My voice was silky smooth. Quiet and calm. The kind of voice that made grown men piss themselves. “I think me and you need a quiet word away from the lady, don’t you.”

He knew instantly what I meant and paled further as I fisted the back of his T-shirt in my hand. My eyes flicked up. “Wicked?”

He grinned. “You sure you want to do this? He’s a patched member of the Steel Horses?”

I nodded once. “Then he should know better.”

“Okie dokie then.” Wicked shrugged. “I’ll keep Cali company until you are finished.”

I didn’t kill him, although I wanted to. Really really wanted to in fact. But I held back. I wasn’t stupid. Killing him would cause trouble for the club that we just didn’t need. He had touched what was mine, but it hadn’t gone further than that. Luckily for him. If he forced himself on her in any way, I would not leave him breathing.
