“You have a filthy mouth.” Finally, she lifted her eyes to mine, they were serious, but her lips kept lifting at the edges as she tried not to laugh.
“You like my filthy mouth. And you’re going to like it a lot more before this weekend’s over.”
“Is that right?”
“Oh, it’s right.” I was sure about that. More sure than anything else in my entire life. “So the choice is yours, Cali, do we get straight down to it or do you want me to chase you for a little while longer?”
“You haven’t chased me at all.” Shaking her head, she reached for the mug of coffee in front of her, and my fingers curled around hers. “I haven’t? I don’t usually hunt down woman Cali. But I came to find you. But hey..” I gave her hand a squeeze. “If you want me to chase you, I will. You want me to wine and dine you…” something I said made her smile slip. Something flickered into her eyes.
“I only have until Monday.” She repeated.
“Then that’s what we have to work with.” My voice came out solid. There was no hesitation in it. “I best make this a weekend to remember, huh?”
“Best had.” She repeated softly, her eyes skirted away even as she teased. There was no sign of the smile on her lips this time. It was like she was already pulling away from me.
And I couldn’t have that.

We had barely gotten across the road when my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I didn’t need to look at the screen to know who it was.
Ruin.
He had programmed himself his own ringtone as a joke one drunk night, and I hadn’t changed it.
“I’ve got to take this.” I didn’t turn my back to her, but I did angle my body to the side as I placed the phone to my ear.
Ruins voice was loud in my ear, and my lip curled, but I kept my eye on her. She was hovering over my bike like she was scared it was going to roar to life and bite her in the ass.
The thought made me smile. The only thing she should be scared of biting that ass was me. I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into it. Just as I couldn’t wait to get her on that bike behind me. I wanted to see how much she squealed feeling that much power between her thighs.
Would it make her knees tremble with need? Or would she hate it?
“Yeah I’ll be there in ten, I just have to…” I let my eyes find hers as she straightened. The question clear on her face. “I’ll be there as soon as I can. I have something to do here first.” I listened quietly as he swore down the phone before cutting him off mid-rant.
“You have to go, huh?”
“You heard, huh?” I was hoping she hadn’t heard too much. That would complicate matters.
“No, I just know that look. I get it when work calls as well.” She sighed.
She thought it was work, it was adorable. She was adorable.
“Thank you for breakfast Truth, it’s been …” she paused. “Eye-opening.” She grinned, and I couldn’t help it. I smiled right back.
“Hey, where do you think you’re going.” I caught her effortlessly around the waist. Trapping her against the brick of Gems building.
“I thought you had to go to work?” Cali’s chin tilted upwards, and I realised that I had my body pressed to hers without even meaning to. I had her pressed up against the wall in the middle of a Saturday morning like we were alone. And not gathering looks from passing shoppers.
“I do, but you are here until Monday.” Slowly I brushed my thumb against her bottom lip. “Meet me in Cooks tonight?”
I didn’t even know what I was asking. I never asked a woman to meet me. It was too much like a date.
“Why?”
“Because I want you too?” Sometimes felling the truth was a curse.
“Is that right?”
