“What was that for?” I taste blood. “I just sprung you out of jail.”

“I wasn’t in fucking jail. I had everything under control.” Fallon nearly loses her mind. “Everything was perfect. I had my in. I would have had my fucking opening. And you two fucked it all up!”

“I couldn't stand either one of you in that house another second.”

“That wasn’t your decision to make, Declan!”

“It wasn’t your decision to go behind my back and take my kid away from me either!” I yell back at her, and Aisling starts crying.

“Shh, shh, no, baby, it’s okay.” Fallon swoops right in to comfort her. “Your daddy is just a big macho prick who can’t handle his woman taking care of things,” she hums sweetly.

“I can handle you taking care of things. What I can’t handle is Ronan fucking Kennedy sticking his cock where it doesn’t belong.”

“Who says it doesn't belong?”

“I do,” I lash out. She’s just trying to piss me off, and it’s working.

“Jealous much?”

I turn and glare at her, licking the blood dripping from my lip.“Verymuch.”

We glare at each other, neither willing to back down or back off. A will of alphas clashing in the speeding car.

Fallon shockingly caves first, cracking a little smile. “I don't belong to you, Dax.”

“The hell you don’t. It is what it is, whether you like it or fucking not.”

“Definitely not.”

“Liar,” March chimes in.

“Who the fuck asked you?” Fallon sounds more playful than psychotic.I count my tiny blessings.

“No one needs to ask me.”

“Jesus Christ, I have to deal withtwoof you now.” Fallon crosses her arms, and I can’t stop myself from fixating on her.

“Are you cold? You barely have anything on.” She’s dressed in nothing but a shiny little pink number with black lace. “You never wore anything like that for me.”

Fallon rolls her eyes. “Ronan bought it for me. I was playing my part. And yes, I’m fucking freezing. That’s what happens when someone invades your bedroom in the middle of the night and makes you jump out a window.” She’s a bit bitter, I believe.

“We didn’t have many escape options at that very moment.”

“I think I stepped on a piece of glass, too.” She lifts her foot.

“I’ll carry you wherever we need to go,” I promise.

“And where the fuck is that exactly? What are you two mad men up to?”

Both March and I clam up.

Fallon takes that as a bad sign. “What are you two idiots planning?”

“You tell her.” March elbows me.

“You tell her. It was your idea.” I shove him back.

“Tell me what?” The tone of Fallon’s voice is frightening. We both slink in our seats.
