I balk as he slowly thrusts in and out of me, hitting all the right spots and sending heat across my skin, even though we are immersed in cool water.
“Thank fuck you still have your clothes on,” Devon mutters as he steps outside, looking out of place in his black pants and shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
“Don’t you own board shorts?” I ask him, hoping my flushed cheeks don’t give away what Asher is doing between my legs.
“Why would I need board shorts?” Devon frowns. “I swim nude.”
I roll my eyes, hearing Barrett chuckle from inside as Devon sits on the end of the sun lounge, his gaze turning serious.
“What is it?” I ask, almost forgetting that Asher is stretching me with his thick girth, slowly and subtly easing out and then back in.
“You need to be back in Victoria next weekend.”
Devon’s words have Asher momentarily stilling as he eyes my brother.
“The party isn’t for two weeks,” he says, confused, but Devon shrugs.
“Sunday lunch,” is all he says, and I stiffen.
“They still do that?” I ask, feeling Asher’s hands travel up my back, like he’s offering me silent support.
He knows how anxious I am about seeing all the family again. About seeing my parents.
No one knows we are back on Australian soil except for those that flew back with us from England, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this little bubble of paradise we’ve been hiding in, but I’ve always known it would end.
I’m just not ready yet.
“Yes, Lily,” Devon sighs. “Our parents still insist we all go to that pompous restaurant every Sunday to have lunch. And yes, Ewan still holds a monthly Friday night dinner on his estate.”
I roll my eyes because, of course he does.
Thankfully, the Sunday lunches are just for my immediate family, so I guess it will be good to see my parents and sisters before I spring my surprise return at the party.
Shit… It’s all becoming more and more real.
As Asher moves us around the pool, making it look like two people in love enjoying a cuddle in the water, he uses each step to thrust faster and harder, even though it’s unnoticeable to anyone watching.
“Have you told Mum and Dad that I’m back?” I ask, and I’m sure he thinks my strained voice is from anxiety about seeing my family again, and not the fact Asher is building my pleasure with each hidden thrust.
“Nope. Thought it would make a nice surprise,” he shrugs. “Ell and Jen will be over the moon to see you.”
I swallow thickly, my heart flipping at the idea of seeing my sisters again.
“Okay, fine. We’ll head to Victoria on Saturday. Are the winters still freezing?”
He scoffs, “It was fucking eight degrees when I boarded the jet to come up here.”
I shiver at the thought, although back in England, it often gets colder. So much colder.
“Looks like I’ll have to find some winter clothes before we fly back,” I mutter, and Devon nods, standing again.
“See you next weekend, Lil,” he rasps, before jabbing a finger at me and Asher. “Try not to start your killing spree back in Victoria. I’ve had to pay off numerous people and cleaning crews since you’ve been back. If you’re not careful, the detectives in England will track you down.”
I giggle as he strides off, not caring about that in the least.
There are predators everywhere in the world, and someone needs to make them pay.
As Devon steps inside, Asher grips my chin, turning me to face him again, before claiming my lips in a searing kiss.
