“Oh, sure. You spent all morning enjoying my notes, but now you call them wicked.” Ricki’s cheeks colored as soon as the words were out of her mouth. “Oh, god, that came out so wrong.”

Blythe burst out laughing, almost dumping the eggs. “That was too easy. You embarrassed yourself, so I didn’t have to.”

“Shut up.” Ricki began filling her plate, not looking at Blythe or Abby.

Abby had already sat, so Blythe pulled a chair from the other side of the table and squeezed it in beside Abby.

“Cozy.” Abby scooted her chair over to make room for Blythe.

“Cozy and the best way to get breakfast footage.”

Abby’s eyes widened. “You’re going to film us eating breakfast?” She reached up to her hair, which still sported a bun. “I haven’t taken a shower yet.”

Had she worn it to bed like that? Blythe had been so focused on editing that she’d not noticed. Surely, she’d taken it down to sleep.

“You look great.” Blythe touched Abby’s hair. “Can I convince you to take this down today?”

Abby wrapped her fingers in the bun. “Uh, I’m not used to wearing it down. Unless I’m home—alone.”

“What about that picture you sent me?” Blythe said.

“That was a special occasion.”

“And this isn’t?” Blythe grinned. “How about our dinner date? I plan on taking you to the new seafood and steakhouse this evening.”

“Maybe.” Abby twirled her fingers in her hair.

“Our followers will go nuts seeing you with it down.”

Abby’s face fell. “What about you?”

Shit.Blythe recovered and said, “I thought that was a given.”

Abby smiled. “Can I wait to decide until tonight?”

Ricki slid into her seat across the table from them, and Blythe felt Ricki’s eyes boring into her, but she kept her gaze on Abby.

“Absolutely. Whatever you’re comfortable with.”

“Thanks.” Abby’s shoulders relaxed. “Ricki, are you coming, too?”

Ricki raised her hands and leaned back away from the table. “Oh, no. I’m not going on your date with you.”

“Oh,” Abby said.

“The more the merrier,” Blythe said. “Besides, we need a videographer. Speaking of, shall we film our first breakfast together?”

Abby looked down at her food. “If it takes as long as our greeting at the train station, our food will get cold.”

Blythe laughed. It seemed Abby had a better sense of humor than Blythe realized.

CHAPTER 16

They’d spent the entireday in the city. While Blythe had hoped to visit a few more places, it’d still been fun.

“You’re a natural.” Blythe steadied Abby as she exited the train. “A real trouper.”

“Here, let me take those,” Ricki said, relieving Abby of the bags she carried.
