Jamue groaned.
“Father?”
“What? I had to ask. I know how people can ostracize others for someone else’s sins.”
“Holi is going through the same thing. I think you should help him.”
His father sighed.
“You didn’t reject Uncle Hal. He rejected you, but you’re doing the same thing to Holi. He didn’t do anything.”
“I know. Come, introduce me to your alpha. I think it’s time I met him.”
Jamue shook his head and walked to Hym. His father looked awkward as he greeted Hym. But Hym laughed and made conversation with him, treating him like nothing happened.
Jamue stared at him, falling deeper in love with him. And he realized he would never stop. He’d continue to fall in love with his alpha for the rest of his life.
Hym looked over at him and mouthed: I love you.
And I’m falling, Jamue thought as he stood next to his dream alpha.
Epilogue
A month later.
Jamue
“We want more! We want more!” the crowd shouted as Mac and Jamue bowed.
“I think the spirit kit was a bad idea,” Mac whispered as he straightened and faced the crowd. Their first sampling event was epic, the spirit kits a hit. “I warned you this would happen.”
Jamue laughed, exhilarated. Life was finally perfect. He had everything he’d ever wanted. He looked at his mate in the crowd. He was gorgeous, breath-taking - and he was all his.
This is the best moment of my life.
“This is not a laughing matter. What are we going to do?”
“Make more,” he said, waving at their customers. He watched as Hym walked around the tables to reach him. He smiled, taking his breath away.
“Do you hear yourself or are you busy ogling your alpha?”
“Both,” Jamue said. He turned to Mac. “This is all your fault.”
“What?”
“I make the designs. I don’t make the spirits. Did you have to make our new spirit that delicious? I couldn’t speak after tasting it. Next time, I taste them before we have a sampling event.”
“But that’s the best part. I love watching you when you taste my creations for the first time,” Mac whined.
Hym reached them and took his hand. “I think it's time to go. You’re about to have a riot in here.”
Jamue smiled up at him. “Nava will handle it.”
"Good," Hym said, dragging him to the door.
"What are you doing?"
"Taking you home. I need my mate," he whispered in his ear.
“But we were together this morning,” Jamue complained half-heartedly as he followed him, his body already tingling. He waved at Mac. His friend shook his head turning to his alpha. Deltta pulled his close. Jamue couldn’t believe how far they’d come.
It was all a dream, an amazing dream, he thought as he followed his alpha.
