But he stayed because he wanted to.
At this point he knows everything now, or at least enough.
And the weirdest part –he fits perfectly. Like he was always meant to be here.
He also started helping me with the businesses now, both legal and not. He sits in the meetings with me, asks questions, even challenges me sometimes. Which I didn’t expect, but I like it. Because this means that he’s not just mine, he’swithme.
A few months ago, Harley was able to see his friends again, Archie and Theron.
I saw how happy all three of them looked, and I realised how much he missed his friends, and how much he needed it.
The Auction never stopped.
The Obsidian Veil still thrives in the shadows, unseen by the world that pretends things like this don’t exist.
And tonight –
We both are here again, standing in the same room we reunited almost a year ago.
Only this time we both watching the stage, watching the host parade another soul under the lights.
Honestly, the only reason I’m even here is just to make sure that everything runs smoothly. I don’t care about who gets sold tonight, who’s going to bid the most money. Because the only thing I ever wanted –
He already belongs to me.
“P.”
His voice cuts through the noise of the music.
I turn, and there he is, standing just behind me, dressed in black, the look fitting him perfectly. Plus it fits with the vibe of the night.
Looking at him I realise that this is exactly where he was meant to be from the start – right beside me, to be a part of my world.
I reach for him without thinking. My hand settled on his waist, pulling him closer.
“I don't think we should…” he whispers.
But I shut him up with a kiss. When I let him go, he’s breathless.
“You’re mine now, Angel,” I say quietly, leaning in just enough for only him to hear.
“And I’d never let you go.”
Behind us, the bidding starts again.
But I don’t care about any of that.
Because tonight I’m not a part of that.
Tonight I’m exactly where I want to be. With the only person I ever craved, the only one I ever needed. The man I dreamed for years. The love of my life. My Angel. My Harley.
And this time…
There’s no mask, no distance. Just us.
Exactly the way it was always meant to be.
THE END.
