“So, we should go?” I ask, thinking about getting coverage for my job while we’re gone. My brain is going a mile a minute thinking about the fact that Audrey can take care of the library, but she doesn’t have the skills to do the admin stuff for the pack. Then again, Ivy recently offered to help with that if I needed it. She’s not planning to open her dance studio until after her baby is born and is getting a little bored.Hm.
Jase interrupts my thoughts. “What if Linc doesn’t find his mate up there and he’s ready to come back here the week after we get there and you’re entrenched in that job? Or what if he and Joel find their mates on the same day in different places?”
“You’re a meanie,” I complain.
Laughing, he moves in, and I recognize the intent in his eyes, so I slide off the counter, sidestep him, and take off running with a squeal. He catches me at the bottom of the stairs and throws me over his shoulder before climbing up.
When I’m deposited on the bed, I spring to my feet and get into the low wrestling stance I’ve seen him and Linc get into by the bonfire many times.
He looks me over and his eyebrows go up. “Ooh. You wanna wrestle, little lady?” He wiggles his eyebrows.
Oh yes, I’ve had the wrestling with Jase fantasy many times.
I wiggle my fingers while I bounce on my feet, essentially jumping on the bed.
I’m definitely losing this match. But I also know I’m about to win in a different way. Because he throws his shirt off, sinks his teeth into his bottom lip, and shoves the bench at the foot of our bed out of the way.
Arousal surges through me. I’ve been waiting to lose a wrestling match to Jason for a long, long time.
And I’ve already got a plan in mind for acting out another fantasy, too. Tomorrow, I’m thinking I’ll charge up and pull out my little silver bullet, which he hasn’t seen yet. We’ll see if he tells me he’s got something bigger and better. Because he certainly does.
The air fryer dings a few minutes later, but Jase already has me naked and pinned on my back. The new batch of corndogs are ready, but it looks like Fate reallydoeswant us to eat them cold.
