Jessica looked at Misty one more time. “I’m not deleting the whole group, just taking a break from it.”
She clicked the message icon and messaged Lisa.
Juicy_Babe:Hey, Lisa. I’m taking a short break from the group. School’s getting overwhelming with my lit magazine project, chaperoning, and all that. I’m putting you in charge, okay? If you’re okay with this, I’ll give you full admin rights. Jury’s still out on the new person, Yes_Ma’am. You can toss her if it gets weirder. I know you’ll ask how long I’ll be away. I don’t know. Minimum of a week, I think. Today’s Tuesday, so maybe I’ll be back sometime next Tuesday evening? You know how teachers like deadlines. LOL.
She sent the message and stared at the blank television. She was in no mood for that. Her nerves were frayed. She was deeply disappointed that her friendship with Daddy Vic had been kind of compromised. Yeah, she’d gone and convinced herself that Daddy Vic was different.
“They’re all the same.” A deep sadness filled her chest. She’d cry later.
The message window was still open. Lisa had responded.
“Damn,” she muttered. She’d been hoping to ride into the sunset alone. But she couldn’t ignore her friend.
Rachels_Toy:Please call me.
Lisa listed her phone number in the next message.
Jessica clunked her head back on the soft couch and blew out a sigh. This is not what she wanted. But she picked up her phone anyway and tapped in the digits.
“I saw the posts,” Lisa said without even saying hello. She had the cutest southern accent. “That Yes_Ma’am chick is going to get my boot right up her ass.”
Jessica heard laughter in the background. That must be Lisa’s Domme, Rachel.
“Hi, Lisa,” Jessica said. “Nice to meet you.”
“You sound so cute,” Lisa said. “You are cute, I know you are. And I know something else, too.”
“What’s that?”
“You like Daddy Vic. It’s obvious. Has she been respectful to you?”
What an odd question. “Yes, of course. That’s not it.”
“Ahh,” Lisa said. “So, you’re taking a break because you think maybe she went for that ridiculous act of Yes_Ma’am’s?”
“Am I that transparent?”
“No. But I know you. You and Daddy Vic both seem to be intelligent people. You communicate clearly and are both verythoughtful with what you say. I just need you to be careful, that’s all. Keep an eye open for red or even pink flags.”
Again, that was another odd thing to say. “I always am.”Which is not always true.“I just have to take a break for a bit.”
“I understand,” Lisa said. “You know that I’m going to be here for you. I’ll do that admin stuff. I admin my own writing group onKinksanyway, so I know the drill.”
“I appreciate that,” Jessica said. “And I’m not going to text asking if they’re together or anything like that.”
“Good,” a voice said in the background. The voice got louder. Lisa must have handed Rachel the phone. “Jessica, you need that break. Bury yourself in your work for a week. It will be the equivalent of sleeping on a problem. Does that make sense?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Or, perhaps you could message Daddy Vic directly and ask her.”
Jessica was silent on her end for a moment. “No. Her private life is none of my business, right? She would know to reach out to me if this had been a problem, and she didn’t.”
“Got it,” Rachel said. “So, take that break. Breathe. Exercise. Drink water.”
“Yes, Ma’am,” Jessica said, meaning it. She couldn’t help using the honorific. Rachel was clearly a Domme, and it was exactly the kind of energy she needed at the moment.
“Hi, I’m back,” Lisa said into the phone. “We’re both going to send you calming energy all the way from the suburbs of Nashville.”
