Cal’s roar of laughter brought Summer and Rosie waddling out of the barn toward them. Summer stopped beside Jesse, slipping her arms around his waist.
“What’s so funny?”
Cal shook his head. “You’re gonna be one busy lady, Summer.” He turned his attention to his own wife. “And you’ll be right beside her.”
Summer sighed and rested her head against Jesse’s chest. He put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. “All I care about is making my husband happy.” She smiled up at him.
Jesse’s chest constricted again, and he loved the feeling. “You’ve already done that.”
“Swear to it?” she asked with a twinkle in her eyes.
He laughed. “Each and every day, my lovely wife.”
