“Yeah, okay, just keep safe, okay?” He smiles but doesn’twait for an answer before closing the door.
I gouge my fingers into my eyes, doing my best not to imagine my brother in bed with some leggy blonde or brunette. I have no idea what his type is. Our relationship is not that deep.
But he’s my brother and, thankfully, the visual of Abby with Jasper and Mateo shoves the visual of my brother in the act aside.
I rush down the corridor to the elevator, pondering my choices. If I knock on Creed’s door and he opens shirtless, I might lose my mind. Same goes for Noah.
Shit
Spending the night in the library doesn’t sound appealing but what choice do I have? As if my brain enjoys tormenting me, an image slips in uninvited. Creed standing close behind me, his breath warm against my ear, his fingers ghosting down the length of my bare spine... and Noah in front of me, his hot mouth on my skin, hands on my hips.
My breath stutters.
What the hell is happening?
No longer than a year ago, I blushed furiously just thinking about Evan touching me and now I’m picturing two of my brother’s best friends doing way more?
I shudder, clenching my thighs together, and shake my head, trying to dislodge the image before it consumes me. The library’s my safest option. I’d find Dash if I weren’t afraid of cockblocking him. He’s getting it on as often as Abby and it feels like they’re aiming for gold in fucklimpics.
I jam my finger into the zero and the elevator glides down to the ground floor. It dings, the door slides open, and Noah’s there waiting, one hand in his pocket, the other gripping a half-empty beer he lifts to his mouth.
He doesn’t notice me, but I sure notice his biceps flexing and throat bobbing. For some reason, it makes me lightheaded. He tips the bottle and finishes what’s left, his eyes landing on me.
“Hey,” he says, one eyebrow raised. “Where are you going?”
“I... I was just—”
My breath catches when he steps closer. His cologne hits me and a wave of goosebumps erupts down my arms. He smells warm, heady, undeniably masculine.
“I—” I try again, shifting from one foot to the other, the friction sending sparkles all over my body. “Um... library.”
His gaze sharpens, raking over my face and making me squirm. “You’re flushed, beautiful.” He enters the elevator, charging right at me. He stops inches away. “What happened?”
The heat rolling off him, that low voice, the sheer size of him standing this close... I tremble and my panties dampen further. I’m grasping for scraps of rational thinking, pinching my lips when a visual crashes back into my head.
Noah and Creed, touching me together.
“Abby’s busy,” I whisper, my body humming with arousal. “She forgot to leave the umbrella outside and—”
“You walked in on her with some guy?” he guesses, tipping my face up with two fingers.
“Two,” I blurt out. “Twoguys.”
A knowing smirk plays across his lips. “Go, Abby.”
“Yeah... I guess.” I inhale deeply and sidestep him, smoothing my hair and my hoodie. “I went to Hyde and he’sbusytoo and I was just leaving, so—”
He grabs my arm before I leave, pulling me into his chest, my body igniting at the contact.
“You’re not waiting in the library while your friend’s getting railed, Millie. Come on, we’ll play chess.”
“No, Noah, I—”
“You’re turned on,” he finishes for me, voice loaded, dark eyes crinkling with a smile. “You’ll calm down soon. It’s fine.”
He wouldn’t say that if he knew what I’ve been imagining.
Lacking ideas and apparently brain cells, I let him pressfive. We enter his room moments later. The familiar décor calms my frayed nerves a little. Noah’s a creature of habit, his space devoid of clutter, bed made with military precision, the faint scent of his cologne and shower gel hanging in the air.
