“Yes, just shaken. Although I may not want to get on a horse again for another year after this.”
“I will see what I can do, my lady.”
She buried her face in his chest and burst into laughter.
“What is that for?”
“I have never had so much excitement in my whole life until you arrived.”
He stilled. “Do you wish I’d never come?”
Elisande lifted her gaze to his beautiful blue eyes. “I was just wondering what took you so long.”
“Had I known what a beautiful, courageous woman awaited me here, I promise I would have come much sooner, my lady.”
And then he kissed her, and Elisande decided nothing else mattered except this one knight.
