We went hard and fast as we both seemed to need that.

Zaya

I had been thinking about my reunion with Steele for a couple of days before that intruder arrived and shot poor Bruno. Every time I imagined how we would come together, my clit throbbed, aching for that stimulation of fucking him, the feel of him in my arms, his hard muscular chest pressing and rubbing my tits.

But I also knew that I gave Steele as much pleasure as I received with our joining. Now I understood why he didn’t come for me as soon as he learned we’d been matched. The great joy we found in being together would become our greatest agony if one of us were left without the other.

The moment he made his presence known as I showered, I could hardly wait the few seconds it took him to strip and have him inside me. Steele, my Steele! Not only did I crave him physically, I craved him emotionally—to share a meal, a task, or a beautiful day. Sharing my life with him made everything better. The thought of going back to my life before Steele was paralyzing now that I knew the difference.

It was so much more than the sweet pleasure of his body pressed to mine and his hard cock driving into me and caressingmy inner walls and my g-spot. We also shared a spiritual connection that both enhanced and transcended our physical connection.

I savored the feel of him both with my mind and body as he took me to orgasm for the third time when he finally poured his essence deep inside me. My whole body tensed as the first contraction of orgasm seized me. It was pure ecstasy.

The fizzy sensation of the nanites that came with his semen was an additional benefit. They would keep me strong and healthy for many years to come.

A wave of love overwhelmed me as we came down from our sexual bliss. “Steele, Steele, I love you—so much,” I crooned, kissing and caressing his handsome face.

“You are my heart, sweet Zaya,” he murmured, holding me close, still inside me as a gentle mist swirled over us.

We were completely into each other, and in the moment, just then, nothing else seemed to matter.

Bruno was on his feet, wagging his bushy tail, when Steele and I returned to the kitchen after our shower. I went to him, gave him a gentle hug, and petted him, thrilled to see him on his feet. When I finished fussing over him, he walked to the door with just a slight limp. I followed him and let him out while Steele checked on our stew.

“Do you think the nanites you gave Bruno for his wound will extend his life like you said the ones you give me will extend mine?”

“They will. Once they colonize the host, they will replicate to maintain it in optimum condition.”

Smiling happily, I got out tableware and poured mugs of tea while Steele filled our bowls from the pot on the cooker and brought them to the table. These were simple things. What made them special was doing them together.

Although I couldn’t see into the future, I could visualize building a future with Steele as my mate and the father of our children. No doubt there would be challenges ahead, but we would face them together.

A few days later, we learned that Dan Franklin was part of a gang working for the Mesaarkans. He named some of his associates to avoid going to the prison planet. Franklin went to prison on Earth for a few years. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t know how to get to any of the Mesaarkan bases, or he might have avoided prison altogether. It serves him right for trying to kill Bruno.

Three Years Later

Steele

I set my sky cycle down in the front yard of our ranch house, returning home from two days out on patrol. Zaya was on the porch wearing her lovely red robe and nothing else. Almost six months pregnant, she trotted out to greet me with surprising grace.

Her dark hair shimmered in the morning sun, and her beautiful smile warmed my heart. We met halfway between the house and my cycle. I lifted her easily into my arms bridal style, brought her face level with mine, and claimed her lips in a passionate kiss. Her baby bump no longer allowed her to jump into my arms and wrap her legs around me.

Our desire for each other had only grown since the beginning. Zaya’s lust had grown even more since her pregnancy, and I was more than happy to satisfy her needs. Our bond went so much deeper.

We had built a life together on this ranch, and now we were starting our family. Zaya brought all of that into my life. She was my soul mate as well as my lover. I craved breeding with her almost as much as my next breath, and the connection between us was virtually metaphysical. I was made to love her and only her forever.

I had just finished my morning shower and put on my cherished robe when Steele called that he was on his way home. I’d had plenty to do while he was gone and had accomplished most of it. The small combine bot he bought when he brought me back to the ranch made farming so easy.

The garden was tilled and planted, and planting the field crops was nearing completion. At six months pregnant, I was happy just to watch. I was still able to care for the livestock. We kept the horse that Franklin left since he went to prison. I named him Jax. He was a nice horse, and he got along with Bruno and the goats just fine.

With Steele in my life and our baby soon to be born, I was happier than I ever expected, even before I was sold to Gar’hako. I hardly ever thought of that time anymore. Steele was my life now.

Belting my robe loosely above my expanded belly, I went to the kitchen to make some tea while I waited for him to arrive. My body prickled with desire in anticipation of his arrival. A round of breeding nearly always followed our reunions. Steele often asked if I would wear the red robe. I usually did.

I carried my mug of tea out to the porch to enjoy the morning sun and mild temperature while I awaited Steele. I had just finished my tea when he landed his sky cycle in our yard. Setting the mug on the porch railing, I hurried out to meet him as fast as I could while heavily pregnant. I wouldn’t be running and leaping into his arms for a while. But I wasn’t so heavy that Steele couldn’t lift me in his arms easily, so he had only to turn his head to kiss me.

After a long, deep kiss, he carried me into the house. By then, the tea hit my crowded bladder, and I had to make a detour before I could welcome my mate home properly.

Despite the fact that he was made to be the fiercest of warriors, an efficient killing machine, he was capable of greattenderness and concern. Steele’s capacity for love was his greatest strength.
