Marty cried out in pleasure. “Please, sir. I’m so close.”

The plea pulled Tracker’s head out of the clouds. Sure enough, Marty had a huge bulge in his underwear and a growing wet spot.

Zeus immediately stopped. “Bad boys don’t get to come. Someone will be in shortly to unchain you.” Zeus walked coldly away, ushering Tracker out the door ahead of him while Marty openly cried. Tracker was a bit shell-shocked. He hadn’t known where that session had been headed, but he hadn’t expected how it ended. In a haze, he let Zeus lead him to his apartment down the back hallway of the club.

Zeus opened the door and waved Tracker inside. “I’ll just be a minute. I need to make sure everyone knows I’m done for the night and not to disturb me.”

Tracker nodded. Zeus still sounded closed. But Tracker walked inside the apartment to wait because it was Zeus. He was pretty sure there was nothing he wouldn’t do for the guy.

Chapter Six

Arhythmicpulseofblood in Zeus’ ears muted the loud music. Zeus’ heart tried to beat out of his chest. He headed first to the dog pen, where Onyx waited. Zeus was relieved as hell to see the woman who had worked for him since day one. He couldn’t make his lips shape a smile for her or the pups. His life was seconds away from falling apart.

“You’re being such good boys. Mistress Onyx will be taking you out for your walk tonight. Make sure you behave and have fun.”

He glanced Onyx's way.

The flashing colorful lights highlighted her jet-black hair. Her dark eyes reflected the same colors. “They’ll behave.”

Zeus gave her a nod of appreciation and made his way to the bar. He dipped behind it. “Hey, Sonny. I’m out. No one is allowed to disturb me.”

The blond flashed him a bright smile. “Sure thing, boss.”

With the bare minimum completed, Zeus headed back to the apartment. He found Tracker on the couch, waiting patiently. Zeus wanted to straddle his lap and distract Tracker from the truth. The problem was this topic wasn’t going away. He knew he could make Tracker forget what he had seen for a night. But ultimately, his job still existed, and one day, what he did for a living would explode in their face, and not in a good way.

Zeus joined Tracker on the couch. He jumped straight into explaining himself, but he couldn’t look at Tracker while he did. “Do you have any idea how someone like me is trained? How someone like me is created? I—”

“I’m proud of you.”

Zeus’ gaze snapped to hold Tracker’s stare at the statement. He blinked and then blinked again. That was the last thing Zeus expected to hear. In fact, that hadn’t even been on the list of possibilities. “For what?” Zeus hadn’t meant to sound so shocked, but he felt sideswiped and couldn’t hide it.

“You’ve chosen self-awareness and to face your programming head on. Instead of ruining lives the way you were trained to do, you’ve carved out a space to use that training for good. For people who are likely too ashamed of their desires to lookelsewhere. This place is a perfect outlet for you. I’m better for having known you. Your strength is inspiring.”

Tracker was the only person who made him feel out of his depth. He never reacted to anything the way Zeus anticipated. Of course, Tracker was a genius with an analytical mind. It made sense that he could see Zeus so clearly.

“You’re amazing.” He was, and Zeus had to tell him. “I’ve worried myself sick tonight, thinking you would react badly to what I do here.”

“Why?” Tracker sounded genuinely confused. “I know you. You’re not who everyone thinks you are.” Tracker blushed, fascinating Zeus. “In fact.” He cleared his throat.

Zeus smiled at the sound. He already knew he would love whatever Tracker said next. No one was more adorable when they got uncomfortable.

Tracker took a deep breath. His blush got brighter. “I’ve always felt kind of special and honored to get to see the real you.”

God, Zeus was so fucking in love with Tracker. Zeus’ throat felt a little tight. “You are special, but not because I’m showing myself to you. You’re the only who looks past what everyone else sees.” He paused. A thought hit. “I suppose Clay sees me too, but that’s not the same.”

For a moment, they simply stared at each other in silence. Zeus chose to break it. “I need a shower.”

Tracker smiled. “Okay. Was that your polite way of asking me to leave?”

“No. That was me telling you we’re taking a shower.”

“Okay.”

Tracker surprised Zeus a little with his immediate agreement. No blushing or stressing about his body. It was humbling as hell to realize exactly how much Tracker trusted him. Zeus stood and held his hand out to Tracker. Tracker accepted. Together they headed for the bathroom inside Zeus’ bedroom. They worked silently together to get the temperature right and set out towels and washcloths. Zeus never showered with anyone else. That was an intimacy he didn’t want. When it came to Tracker, no rules applied. Zeus wanted a life with him.

Inside the onslaught of showerheads firing at them from every direction, they met and held each other’s stare.

A smile exploded across Tracker’s face. “It’s a good thing you have a nice shower. I could see this being a water hog, freezing situation otherwise.”
