Tears streamed down Kyra’s face. “I nevergave up looking for you. I promise.”
Tears streamed down Kara’s face. “And Inever gave up hoping you’d find me. I tried to find my way home,but…”
“I know. Little Kara—yourniece!—told me all about it.”
“I wish I had known she wasmy niece. I’d have taken her back to you in aheartbeat.”
“I know that.”
‘Twas at that moment Kararaised a hand to cover her mouth whilst she steadied herself.“Kyra, my God, it’s really you!”
“Kara,” the Empressbreathed out, “my beautiful baby sister.”
The two women ran toward each other andembraced as the tears continued to fall. They hugged each othertightly and vowed to do everything in their power to make up fortwenty and seven lost years.
“I love you somuch!”
“And I love you so muchtoo!”
As the sisters continued to hug and telleach other of their love, Isar couldn’t help but notice that hewasn’t the only warrior present feeling affected by the scenebefore them. Goddess’ truth, he swore he could hear the Emperorsniffling. Even the ruthless King Kil blinked something from hiseye.
And so ‘twas that the long ago partedsisters were reunited. Isar allowed himself to bask in the beautyof the moment for he was all too aware that there would be littlebeauty to be had in the task to play out next.
The evil one surely dwelled on Khan-Gor.Isar was determined to kill it once and for all.
