They say time heals all wounds,
butIcan tell time,
not what to do or how to be
butwhereto be.
I put my clock on the wall.
I put a watch on my wrist.
Thatis where I put time
and time is now where I say it is.
And yet
I am a human chained by time
on my wrist,
on my wall.
Time.
It’s a losing battle, but I’m always trying to win anyway.
Getting ahead of it is impossible.
Falling behind is easy.
Too easy.
I’m easy,
uneasy with this
time
testing my patience to the umpteenth degree.
It takes me over.
Overtakes me
like the waves in the sea.
Like the waves of
my thoughts,
and I'm running out of air.
They're drowning me.
No matter what I do I can never speed it up in
time
