“I do not,” Aidan comes back quickly.

“Yeah you do,” I laugh.

“Maybe.”

“Sounds like you do.” Paul smirks, and I think that might be pushing it. Aidan’s not quite ready to adore him like I am.

I shake my head and huff. “He’s a great writer. I’ve read his book. One of only two people in the world to get to.”

“Well, technically that’s not true.” Aidan puts up a finger.

“Huh?” I gasp. “Other than Ty, I thought it was just me.” I pooch my lips like it hurts.

“My agent’s read it, you know that’s sort of how I got her,” he says, and now I feel stupid. “Plus all the publishers that rejected me.”

“Ah, yeah. And there’s the negativity again.”

Aidan rolls his eyes.

“Not so special after all?” Paul smiles at me and puts his hand in my thick hair and tousles it.

“I’m not special?” I pout.

He told me I was on the way to our canoeing trip, that there was something special about me. So of course I’m going to eat that up.

“Uh…of course you are,” Paul rebounds. “Just not to him.”

“Excuse me!” Aidan’s head jolts back. “He’s—”

Oh my. This is devolving.

“He’s just joking.” I put my hands up and slide off the bed. “How about we get dinner?”

That was already the plan. Study session then dinner, but originally we—meaning me—were going to study for at least one more class before leaving. Not now though. I think they’d be alright in the same room for a little longer, but I’m not chancing it this early.

“Sure.” Paul shrugs and comes off the bed after me. “But no carbs.”

I laugh and roll my eyes. “See ya later, A.”

In the hallway once we’re out of earshot Paul pops his lips and asks me a question. “So, what’s his name? I can’t for the life of me remember and you pretty much only call him A.”

It Is Time

I am mentally exhausted. Between work and therapy and school and Huxley and Easton always asking how I’m doing, I’m spent. Though therapy is going great! I’m loving it. It’s hard, but it’s good. It’s really good. And I like Dr.Orleen. She’s been extremely helpful with everything and I’m so blessed to have Hux—

“Hiya, bestie! How was therapy?”

See, always asking questions. But I adore that about her even if it can be annoying AF at times.

“Wait, no rehearsal today?” I counter.

“Nah, since spring break is coming up and with midterms this week, the theater professors decided to give us today and tomorrow off to focus on school.”

“Damn! That’s nice as shit! How’s that going anyway, rehearsal?”

“Rehearsal is good! I’ve always been obsessed withRENT, as you know, and portraying Maureen issucha dream come true.” She’s in the kitchen cooking, packing ingredients in a pan and adding seasonings. And cheese. So much damn cheese. None of us are going to be able to shit for a week. “Once we get back from spring break we’ll have like a month-ish of rehearsals left until we open.”
