“You only have ten freckles because it’s October. Two months ago, I counted at least twenty-five.”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “It’s difficult to remember a hat. And I enjoy the out of doors.”
“I love each and every one of those freckles.” And he kissed each one to prove it.
Lara sighed and leaned her head against his chest. He tucked her under his chin and they stood like that until the wedding party emerged from the church.
“I suppose we ought to join them,” he said.
“In a moment.” Lara lifted her head and stood on her tiptoes, claiming his lips for one more kiss.
“The family is waiting,” he said against her lips, and she knew he loved using the wordfamily. Because he’d truly found one here in Last Chance.
“Let them wait,” she said.
And she kissed him again.
